Before and After – Kitchen Makeover – COCOCOZY Design House
As the summer is coming to an end, I wanted to share the kitchen makeover process from the COCOCOZY Design House series. I realized that I never shared the before and after process of the kitchen renovation with you all. As some of you already know, this was my first time remodeling a home, which was thrilling and overwhelming. Now, it’s so satisfying to look back and see where the project started and how it turned out after ten months of work. Personally, I think that the kitchen is the most important room in every home. I think that the kitchen is the most important room in every home. It’s the designated room for dinner parties, family gatherings, and entertaining guests. The kitchen is the soul of the home and needs to make a big impact when it comes to interior design.
The Kitchen Makeover
My vision for this kitchen was to make it feel bright and open, but still complemented the Spanish Colonial feel of the home. It was important that the kitchen was not only beautiful, but usable too. I wanted to create a new layout that I call a livable kitchen. It’s a concept that utilizes a space to cook and a space for dining and entertaining. It creates a more fluid environment within a home. This livable kitchen concept was used throughout this kitchen renovation.
The original layout limited the home’s true potential. It was divided into three separate rooms, making it feel dark and small in size. I knew that this house deserved a stunning updated kitchen that can enhance the character of the house. By adding an archway, it brightened up the entire room and gave the home some fluidity it so desperately needed. Tearing down the walls and adding my own personal touch to the design, helped increase the value and appeal of this home. Having an amazing kitchen is an important investment when it comes to renovating a home.

Pretty flowers | Classic Bouquet by COCOCOZY
Some good news today. I am so excited to announce that I have partnered with FTD and ProFlowers to design my own bouquet! This hand tied flower arrangement is named The Classic bouquet by COCOCOZY! I wanted to create simple pretty flowers for home and I did it. I’ve been keeping this under wraps for months so it is a relief to finally share it with you all.

I worked in conjunction with the FTD design team on creating a bouquet that is soothing, lush and elegant. Neutral and easy on the eyes in green and white. White roses, alstroemeria, Star of Bethlehem, eucalyptus and much more all in a beautiful hand tied bouquet. In a time where we all need a little brightness and happiness in our homes, this partnership is particularly meaningful. I am hoping people will send this bouquet to their loved ones, family, friends, co-workers, teachers or even treat themselves.
Here is the bouquet in my breakfast nook! The white pretty flowers work against blue on blue color block walls in this small dining area!
If you know me, you know I love entertaining and adding in flowers. I make regular visits to the flower mart too. There’s just something about fresh cut flowers and plants that makes me happy! Pretty flowers for home can really cheer up your mood. I highly recommend it.
Also, I was thinking what a wonderful gift these pretty flowers would be for someone. I am planning on sending to a few of my friends and family members to let them know how much I love them and miss them these days. Sending flowers is a nice act of kindness. Can be for a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, graduation, start of school, to celebrate an accomplishment. I think though the best flowers for yourself or the ones you love should be given just because!

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to go – The Botanical Garden
Today we are exploring gorgeous outfits to wear to a botanical garden. It’s getting to the point that I need to dream again! That being said I created “All Dressed Up and Nowhere to go”. Together we can dream about fashion and travel! I think we could all use a bit of inspiration and visual fun right now. I may not be purchasing like I used to but I’m still looking at all of the spring/summer fashion online. I’m dying for spring-summer fashion and all of the pieces are starting to get released online. I chose botanical gardens since I have been seeing stunning photos lately online. The cover image is at The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens but there are so many amazing places out there. For the fashion aspect, I chose to create dressier outfits that are perfect for dreaming about!
Outfit 1
Dress, Handbag, Loafers
First up is a gorgeous and chic floral print midi dress. This piece will shine surrounded by nature. I love the subtle pastels in this dress. Then for an easy and simple outfit pair with a white loafer like this pair that has pearls for a dressier effect. Plus these will be perfect for all of the walking and exploring you’ll be doing. Then adding in a simple and chic crossbody is perfect for compact storage that won’t get in the way.
Sandals, Pants, Top, Handbag
Now onto a bit of a flirty and fun outfit. Spice up a top and pants combo by doing a bright pastel pink wide leg pant. Then a silk tie front blouse is the perfect neutral to keep it from being too overwhelming. This look could be paired with a comfy pair of sneakers or dress it up with a low-heeled sandal in a neutral gold tone. I love the idea of pairing this with a fun mini bag.
Dress, Sandals, Tote
For everyone on a chic trip somewhere and planning on stopping by a botanical garden, this is a look for you! Whether you are in New York, California, Paris, or somewhere else this outfit is perfect for a day of exploring. This dress is the perfect inbetween casual and dressy and looks lightweight and breezy. Then a simple strappy sandal is a darling choice! I love this Loewe tote for a summer look that is functional. This look could take you to the beach or brunch afterward.
Outfit 4
Dress, Clutch, Sandals
For those with an afternoon tea or dinner planned this is the look for you. This dress scream luxury! The off the shoulder look is a beautiful silhouette followed by a slim waist and a flared skirt. The colors and print in this dress are sensational! Then pair with a simple neutral sandal and clutch. This look will look amazing paired with all of the greenery and florals at the garden. And without a doubt, this look will impress everyone else around.
