Kinktober | Day 16 | Mutual masturbation - Horangi
Konig had been really firm and clearly pissed when he had said no more sex in the common areas. You got it, really. He was tired of all of your nasty asses. But what where you supposed to do when you weren't allowed to be alone in one another's room since yours and Nikto's little choking accident? The Colonel might have got some peace of mind, but then rest of you where going crazy.
Restless, that's what you were now, stalking the base for some kind of release. And that when you found Horangi, lounging on some couch.
"Horangi~" You purred, crawling on to of him.
"What do you want, you feral little shit?" He chuckled out, lowering his phone to look directly at you.
"Sex!" You answered all too enthusiastically.
"Well I don't feel like having to go through whatever type of suicided like training Konig would come up with as punishment." Horangi answered flatly.
"How about you do me, I do you? He can't punish us for something he didn't banned."
"야생, I'm pretty sure masturbation was implied in the ban."
"He can punish us for something he didn't explicitly ban." You rectified, as if that made the argument better, while your hands were already at his belt.
"Fine, but I'm blaming it all on you if we get caught." He finally relented, sitting up and readjusting you so you were better placed in his lap.
Eager little thing you were, furiously fumbling to get his pants open. There even was a little victorious noise coming out of you when you finally managed it.
It was a bit ridiculous the spend at which that man took a chunk of your hair and gripped it firmly once he saw you trying to move down.
"We talked about jerking each other off, remember?" It wasn't so much that he didn't want head more than he just didn't want to risk it with your biting problem.
He doesn't let go once you stop trying. Instead he just hold on tighter and left out a hiss when you very unceremoniously pull his cock out of his now open pants and started to stroke him right away.
"Planning on doing me dry like that, 야생?" He asked.
"I don't see you planning to do me at all right now." You pointed out
"Yeah, yeah. Spit on it and let me get those pants of yours open." He replied. And you, infuriating as you were, just chuckled and complied.
Filthy little thing you where, making a show of it and grinding into his hand before he even had the time to fully get into your pants.
Well, every member of the team was filthy, but you really had to be up there. Especially when you just had to use your free hand to pull his mask down, shoving your tongue in his mouth through the scarred hole in his cheek...
"Shit, 야생, calm down. You're getting too excited." He tried not to bite your tongue as he said that, using his hold in your hair to pull you back.
Too late, you're already shaking under his hands even though he barely touched you.
"Done already?" He sighed.
"Just because I came, doesn't mean I'm done. And I sure as hell am not done with you." I said through panted breath.
"God, you're a menace when you're pent-up." He chuckled out before pulling you back in for more.
*emerges from a portal in the wall* IT WANTS MORE HORANGI X LION!READER *gets sucked back in*
Absolutely. For this one I wasn’t sure what to do with Leo and Horangi, as they are really the only couple I have in any of my writings.
You were blindsided. Pretty hard. You were sent on a mission with your team, to investigate some drug trafficking. You trusted Void's intel, she was one of the best after all. Yet when you stormed in with your team into the production lab, you should have retreated. An empty lab was never a good sign, because dealers and cooks worth their weight in their own product, don't leave their supplies unattended. Too much could go wrong. Unfortunately for you, everything did go wrong. It had been a trap.
Out of nowhere one of your team collapsed to the ground after a shot rang out. You turned away without any cover behind you, and felt a sharp pain hit you, causing you to stagger. The rest of the team fought hard, other hybrids you had come to work with, and humand who had proven themselves capable. You tried to recover but you realized quickly you hadn't just been shot. There wasn't a bullet but instead a dart, a tranquilizer. It wasn't long before the room filled with gas knocking out the rest of the team. The first few shots had just been to catch you and your team off guard, a distraction to prevent your team from simply retreating.
The world went dark as you saw your team coughing and falling around you.
Horangi and Konig were both informed that a group of Kortac members had been deployed and gone dark. At first Horangi didn't really care. Their members were capable, and Kortac would choose whether to send a rescue or not. It wasn't his problem. Then Konig messaged Void to get a list of the team members. Horangi watched Konig scan over his phone screen and his face go pale.
"Don't worry about it too much." Horangi told him. "The higher ups will send out another team to get them back."
Konig looked up from his phone, copmpletely silent. Horangi raised an eyebrow. What was that look about? He hadn't seen that one in a while. Without a word, Konig gave Horangi his cellphone, letting him look over the names. Horangi was nervous to look now. It took less than a second for his eyes to fall on your name, and his blood to go cold. Fuck.
Horangi sat there, his thoughts going a million miles a minute. You were in danger, and god knows where. He had to find you. Konig's eyes were still on him, so he returned the phone, not saying anything, and looking at a wall, as if you were standing there with your smug face and he was about to taunt you about getting captured. Except there was no teasing smile on him.
A couple of days passed, and Horangi got to work. He contacted laswell directly, asking if she would be able to look into the drug lab. Laswell admitted she couldn't and redirected him to a freelance intel specialist, called Click. She was willing to help, no problems there. Horangi was distracted during his training and sparring, it wasn't hard to notice. Fighting in the ring was usually left at a stalemate, but more than once he was knocked flat on his back. He was hiding in his room more often, barely eating too. Spirit had started to bring Horangi some meals and leaving them outside his door, hoping he'd eat them. At first he would, but as time went by, Konig would notice the trays sitting in the hall, and would pound on the door until Horangi opened it and took the tray.
On the fourth ignored meal, Konig had enough. He knew what Horangi was doing, but rather than talking to the rest of the team, he was dealing with it all on his own, being secretive and hiding in his room. Konig demanded that Horangi tell the others. They could help, but Horangi kept insisting he had it handled. It wasn't their fight, they didn't need to know. Konig wouldn't have it.
Same day, Horangi was collected and brought ot a briefing room with the Los Vacqueros and the 141 present. Horangi glared at Konig.
"You went behind my back?" Horangi asked. "Didn't take you fo-"
"If a Kortac member is silent for 24 hours they're presumed dead." Konig interrupted. "Y/N hasn't made contact for over that time but others from their team have. One of them saw Y/N get shot."
Horangi grit his teeth, and his fists clenched. He'd already learned all that. The question wasn't why or how, but where. Where in the world had you gone, what had they done with you? That's what he wanted to know! Horangi sighed through his nose. Konig moved closer, practically towering over Horangi as his tail went still.
"Soap and Alejandro are some of the best trackers." Konig pointed out.
"They're also Specgru. Kortac wouldn't just let them waltz in and take over." Horangi argued.
"Did you try asking?" Konig asked. The question was so simple, yet it felt like a gut punch. Horangi had been keeping it to himself, because he didn't want to be vulnerable. He liked the relationship he had with you, private and personal. The last thing he wanted was the world to know.
"Fine." Horangi sighed. He stood by Konig as Price laid out everything they knew and Horangi included any information that was overlooked.
Head down. Keep it down, jaws open. Back... back. Dodge, strike! Strike!
Slam. Back. Strike
Left, left. Right. Strike.
Claw. Snarl. Strike.
Bite. Slam. Right. Rig-...get up.
Left. Right. Focu-...get up.
Cla-...get up.
Get up. You hear everyone screaming and roaring it at you. Get up. It was like a roar of wild animals around you. Get up. Get up.
Your opponent was taunting the same. Demanding you get back up. Demanding you give him a proper fight. As if you hadn't faced a number of heavy hitters before him. Your body was screaming at you to stop, give in. You stared at your opponent, begging for sympathy, mercy, anything. Whatever qualified for relief.
The other fighter, some sort of gorilla hybrid picked you up. You didn't fight back or try to stop him. You knew what was coming and it would either kill you, or convince whatever qualified as a reffree that you were done. One minute you were in the air. The next, you were swiftly reunited with the mat.
When you awoke, you were in human form again, a leash attached to the collar they put on you so you could reach the door to your cell, or kennel as they put it. It was where they had taken you. Some kind of converted underground dog fighting ring. The cells were chain link fences and wood boards. The floors were concrete. Your leash was the only thing they may have changed, because it was reinforced metal and was less worn than any of the other metal.
You were exhausted and broken. The collar forced your forms, giving your captors the option to make you shift at the flip of a switch. Quite literally. Hopefully your beat down meant you could take a break. Very carefully and slowly, you pushed yourself off the floor and moved to the closest wall to lean against. Breathing hurt, your ribs were likely cracked. There was a small ringing in your ear, and your head was foggy. You weren't sure if they'd give you medication or pain relievers or let you suffer as a form of punishment for losing. For now, you focused on yourself. Your whole body felt sore from both pain and exhaustion. Right now you needed to rest.
There was the sound of door opening somewhere down the line of kennels and you heard footsteps and someone being dragged. What time was it? You hadn't thought about it until now, how long you'd been out for. As the footsteps grew closer you didn't try to hide or seem weaker. No point. Soon enough you saw your captors dragging another "contestant" along, half concious. One of them opened the kennel across from you while the other two carried in the hybrid. After ensuring his collar was locked on the lead, they hurried out, as if the hybrid could fight back at any moment. Two left, making small talk, while the last one locked the kennel door. You couldn't see the keys or where they were stashed once he finished locking up.
Before he walked off, you called out, weakly. "Hey... Hey!"
The guy stopped before he got more than two steps away, glancing over. His face was covered, only his eyes visible and he spoke in a casual tone, as if you were a stranger asking for directions. "Yeah?"
"What time is it... how long was I out?" You asked, your eyes barely staying open.
"A couple hours. Relax, fighting is over for tonight." He said, and walked away. There was some relief hearing that. You could rest. The lighting was dim, often casting shadow into the kennels, making it harder to see the competition. You could make out sizes and loose shapes but that was it. How long had you been in these cells? How many fights had you had? The pain suggested more than you should have been.
"...new here?" You heard a laboured voice ask. You looked into the kennel across from yours. The shape was big, and there might be a tail.
"Not sure." You admitted. "Week maybe. You?"
"A few months." The voice said.
"...captured?" You asked.
"Volun-told." He said. "Pay off debts."
"Have a buddy with debts."
"Yeah?... where the fuck is he?" The voice asked.
"...safe." You said.
You hoped.
"Cabrone! Enough! You'll kill him!" Alejandro tore Horangi off of one of the collectors Horangi got in contact with. Placing bets and losing left him with enough collectors with the right bad connections. He finally paid this one off, with interest, and started asking questions. When Alejandro had revealed himself, cornering the collector, the collector got cocky, but coughed up a location. Your location. The comments he made about you, that set Horangi off. Alejandro didn't stop Horangi from kicking the collector's ass. When the claws came out, that was when Alejandro had to step in.
Alejandro pinned Horangi to the wall, who was fighting back like a wild animal. Alejandro barked for the colelctor to book it and not to show his ugly mug to anyone else. Only when he was out of sight, did Alejandro release Horangi, who shoved the colonel away from him. Horangi started to pace, trying to work out his frustration. Alejandro watched him move like a restless tiger. He was about to tell Horangi off for going too far, but Alejandro knew if the roles were reversed, he'd likely have done the same. Though he doubted Horangi would have stopped him from going too far. Rudy meant everything to Alejandro. Clearly, you meant a great deal to Horangi.
"We'll find them." Alejandro told Horangi. Horangi kept pacing. "We have a location. We'll give it to Laswell and the captain. We'll have a plan."
"Specgru will allow that?" Horangi challenged. He knew the 141 and the Vacqueros by now. By the book, that's how they worked. If Specgru said no, they wouldn't do it.
"...well..." Alejandro said, grinning deviously. "Wouldn't mind seeing some hybrid fights."
"Why?" Horangi asked, almost like he was countering an argument. Alejandro raised a brow, his grin changing to confusion.
"What?"
"Why are you doing this?" Horangi asked. "Helping me, helping them? We're mercenaries at best, isn't that against whatever moral compass you have going?"
"You're distracted." Alejandro told him. "It will only get worse as we go, the sooner we help them the better. And no doubt Kortac will owe us a favour for reclaiming some of their best."
"That's it?" Horangi questioned.
"Si." Alejandro said.
You had your back turned to the kennel gate, trying to rest on the hard cold floor. At least it was cool, helping with some soreness. Fucking hell you were exhausted. You heard the gate open and winced. You were ready to fight back, even if every muscle in your body was screaming to stay still. When you had tried to fight back, you were punished, painfully. Instead you heard the gentle clatter of a metal bowl being placed on the floor behind you. The gate was closed again, and you heard them mumbling about how a lion hybrid had been reduced to nothing. You hardly cared to talk back. The last few fights had all been heavy hitters, and you lost each one. You were practically a warm up, a punching bag for them to show off on.
Your neighbour, the one across from you hadn't given you much hope for escape. He told you the food was drugged and infrequent. Painkillers or opioids, fogging your mind and dulling your pain. Leaving the food alone wasn't an easy option. If they found you weren't eating, they forced it down. You'd already tried. Your neighbour had tried to escape more than once. In fact he was sure some of their methods were because of his attempts. One the brightside, he made for a decent conversation partner.
You awoke to banging against the kennel gate. Not again, you thought. Footsteps behind you but you didn’t fight. One of them tried to shake you awake but you didn’t open your eyes. You just tried to nudge him off. Instead he pressed something on your collar and you were forced into your lion form. You groaned, wanting five more minutes. Instead they tugged at your leash, and dragged yourself up.
The walk to the ring was long and slow. You swore you smelt sulfur for a second. Probably just your opponent. Then you slowed your pace. The air was hazy. A different hazy than smoking and dust. It was still in the air, but it seemed thicker. A hard tug from the lead forced you out of your hopeful trance. Right. You were a pit fighter. No time to get sidetracked. Yet you found your ears twitching about, trying to cancel out the loud roars and cheering, to locate the sulfur smell over the booze that was being spilled everywhere, including on you. Maybe a good match would grant you a shower, or at least a hosing down.
Deep breath. Do the fight. The odds of getting out were slim to none.
Then you saw your opponent. Fucking hell, when did he get here? Someone brought in their own hybrid, or the hybrid was desperate for something. So far most of your opponents had been shifters, full animal ones, like pumas, dire wolves, bears, etc. but this one... how was this a fair fight? A nagual? So you don't get to have opposable thumbs but your opponent does?!
The fighting cage's door was shut behind you, making you jump. Clearly someone wanted a good show, to bring in a heavy weight like a nagual, so you batted at the cage. It wasn't just for show, the nagual is bigger than you, has more mobility, more strength, more speed, and... wait. What was that smell? You stopped your escape attempt, and looked at the nagual who was keeping an even distance from you even as you had been trying to break the chain fencing. Was your opponent trying to cheat? Cat nip?
You properly faced the nagual, growling and staring him down as you started to circle the ring. The nagual continued to keep an equal distance. It was waiting for you to make the first attack, but you knew that could be a death sentence. It growled back at you, a challenge. It felt like a solid minute of the two of you just circling each other. The crowd was starting to get restless, and your exhaustion was catching up with you again. Everything was growing foggy. The nagual's growling seemed to lessen. Son of a bitch, was it making the haze thicker? You let out a threatening roar, fainting at the nagual before back off before it could try and strike, but it didn't give in. It just roared back. Your move did get the crowd excited. The haze was growing thicker, the smell of cat nip was still faint, and you swore there was another scent. You tried to write it off as nostlagia trying to trick you.
There was a loud bang, one that turned the roars and taunts of the crowds into shouts of fear and panic. The nagual looked away for only a moment and you took your shot. If the noise was a distraction, you weren't going to let it go to waste, whether it was meant for you or not. Your claws out, you swiped at his chest, jaws open. The nagual cried out, as you clamped down on it's bicep. He didn't have a collar. It tried to shake you off, but you only took a moment to readjust your grip. With whatever strength you had left, you yanked the hybrid into a stumble, before tossing him somewhere into the cloud covered arena. Wait? Clouds?
The crowd was dispersing, fleeing. They were in a panic, tripping over each other, trying to get away as more ruckus could be heard through the fog. It was so loud that you lost focus on the fight. Soon the door to the ring was forced open and a gun was trained on you, sending you into a crouch, ready to bolt.
"Stand down, we're here to help." The man said. He had a spanish accent. Still, you didn't soften. You were practically cornered, and your fight or flight reflexes were on fire, knowing that somewhere in the fog was a nagual. You fainted at the human, who only adjusted his footing. You tried again, only to get put in a headlock. Son of a bitch! You fought, kicking and claw, trying to twist your head to escape. Then you heard it.
"Leo!" A voice you thought you wouldn't hear again. One that made you pause, and gave the nagual enough time to shove a small pouch of catnip into your face. Your body relaxed, despite trying to fight back and you were carefully lowered to the floor. The human holstered his weapon, and the nagual made sure you were still breathing. You tried to look through the fog for him, see if he was nearby, but your senses were dulled. Rest. You wanted to rest.
Horangi got the fog to dissipate once the room had been cleared, and the other hybrids were taken out of their kennels. They were being loaded into vehicles both miltary and emergency so they could be treated and return to their families or units. He made his way to you, while Alejandro and Rudy waited close by. Even from a distance, Horangi could see your chest rise and fall from your breathing. Hopefully, you were okay.
Horangi got into the ring while Alejandro and Rudy stepped back.
"Your chica can fight." Alejandro commented, human and wrapped in a blanket to cover himself. Horangi nodded and crouched in front of you. You could barely stay awake, adrenaline gone from your body and the cat nip next to your face. You let out a soft groan as Horangi reached out and scratched your neck. If you could chuff, you would.
"Yeah. They've dropped me more times than you." Horangi said, looking over his shoulder at Alejandro. Alejandro saw that as a future challenge. You needed to recover first, and to have your collar taken off. Very weakly, you tried to claw at it, to push it off but it's too tight to go over your head. It would shrink down when you shifted back to human, or rather when they flipped the switch. Horangi's attention returned to you, his mask and glasses hiding his face, but you could see past the lenses, just barely. Eyes filled with something you didn't see from him yet. "Get some rest. You're safe now."
Horangi kept checking in on you. The paperwork was a shitshow, one he took responsibility for and found easier to go through while at your side. The rest of the team had taken some of the load, as they were required, writing reports and contacting the families of anyone who wasn't in Kortac. Horangi was fine with taking the brunt of it, because it meant he got to sit with you and work. He got to watch over you. You hadn't woken up for a while, or at least he hadn't seen it. You moved a little, and your wounds were pretty bad. The drugs in your system dulled the pain, but according to the doctors, the painkillers were experimental. At least the collar was off, and you were back to humanoid.
"By the time you wake up, I'll be knocked out." Horangi commented, stifling a yawn. Reading and not a lot of moving made it hard for him to stay awake. He set the paperwork aside, standing up from his chair and stretching. Maybe he needed a walk. It could help. Before he could step away, he saw another fighter approaching your bed. Horangi tensed slightly, knowing some of the fighters had tried to take advantage of their rivals' weakened state, and a lack of separation. The one approaching was a large hyrbid, with a large build, and dark skin. He had a similar build to Alejandro's with more muscle. Certainly looked older, but that could just be an exhausted expression. At first he seemed to examine Horangi before shutting his eyes and taking a breath. He seemed to soften. "You alright big guy?"
"Fine. Tense." The man said, his tail whipping from side to side. A tiger, with a significant amount of black striping. Horangi offered him to sit, explaining that he was heading out for a bit. Clearly the tiger hybrid was tense, as was Horangi. "This is Leo? That's what they called themselves."
"Y/N. Leo is the callsign." Horangi clarified. The man nodded, keeping his eyes on you. "You met then?"
"Kennel across from me." He said. "We talked when we could."
Horangi looked back at you, still resting. Were you always so cute when you slept?
"You the buddy with the debts?" The man asked. Horangi looked back at him. Why did he feel nervous suddenly? Like this man was your dad, and he was assessing Horangi like a potential suitor for you.
"Yes." Horangi answered. "Horangi."
"Rasha." The man said, still looking at you before turning to offer a handshake to Horangi. Horangi took it. "Stretch your legs. I'll watch them."
Without another word, Rasha stepped past Horangi and sat in the chair that had been offered earlier. Rasha's expression was unreadable as he sat down, watching over you. Horangi saw more scars on his arms, and even a fresh patch of gauze taped over his jawline and neck. When Rasha noticed Horangi staring, he gave a slight smirk. "Yeah. Y/N's work."
Horangi chuckled, and left the room. Damn his legs were stiff.
When you woke up, your whole body felt stiff. At least the drugs were flushed out, with morphine dulling your pain instead. Good. You hated the way the other stuff made you feel. turning your head you saw a familiar, cheeky face looking over some papers. Your movement alerted him, making him look up. Immediately the papers were set aside and he moved closer to you.
"Hey." You croaked out.
"Missing for almost a month, and then out for a week..." Horangi told you.
"Shit... did I miss anything?" You asked, eyes half open.
"Not much. You saw me save your ass. I would say that was the most important thing." Horangi told you, grinning. Cheeky bastard.
could we please get a part two for the lion!reader x horangi fic? 🙏🙏

Why did you have to be nervous, he was going to bug you about it as soon as he saw you. It was embarrassing enough that you were here. Come on, you’re a lion, buck up. You straighten, and take a deep breath, puffing out your chest. It was just a thank you get together. You had enough money to set proper boundaries and even get your siblings a better situation as well. Horangi had stepped in, and helped you, you owed him at least some food.
“You are up.” A cocky voice said. You looked up and saw a familiar face. Or at least you recognized the voice. Horangi had his neck warmer over his mouth and nose, and wearing glasses. He blended in perfectly with the rest of them, clothed in jackets, gloves and hats. You yourself had your leather jacket on and your scarf. Horangi looked well enough. You swore you could see his cheeky grin even with it covered.
“Did I say I wasn’t?” You asked.
“You said sure I’ll take you for food when we’re in the same neighbourhood.” Horangi pointed out. He wasn’t wrong.
“Any preference or are you at my mercy?” You asked him. Horangi shrugged. He wasn’t a picky eater to begin with. Though you noticed he’s more observant. You offered him your arm and smiled, tugging him along. Your touch seemed to let him relax more as you took him to your favourite restaurant.
Before then König was asking Horangi about you. Of course Spirit got curious as well. Horangi rolled his eyes, assuring you it was just a meeting among two friends, two coworkers.
“Simon and Johnny are coworkers and they do more than just work.” Spirit pointed out. König snickered at the blunt statement.
“Just a friend. Konig can vouch for me.”
“Since when?” Konig asked, with a stupid smile on his face. Horangi had half a mind to shoo both of them away but honestly, you’re one of the nicest things to happen to him.
A big crowded area would make Konig uncomfortable. You know Horangi, and he doesn’t mind crowds. Easier for him to lay low, and avoid people. A small night market was perfect for the occasion. Food stands and booths for you both to try, and plenty of friendly people. Horangi may be out of his element but he was impressed. You were so relaxed. Sure you didn’t have people coming after you for debts, but when last he saw you, you seemed reserved, headstrong and quiet. Yet here you were smiling and messing around at booths selling crafts. Maybe the holidays brought that out of you.
“You could probably take the sunglasses off, I doubt there will be anyone here who wants to collect money from you.” You told him. Horangi was caught off guard by what you said, so it gave you the chance to take off his sunglasses for him. Now you understood why he left them on. There was the remains of a nasty black eye, thankfully healing and useable but enough to make you were. “What happened?”
“Nothing.” Horangi asked, trying to turn away and move on. You stared him down, tail whipping from side to side behind you. Horangi made a small growl, as you tugged him forward. He tried to pull away but you pointed out the kids running past behind him. Horangi refused to look at you. You took a quick glance and pulled him aside. He begrudgingly came with you so you could talk more privately finding a small alley.
“What happened?” You repeated. Horangi kept looking down the alley instead of at you. Ugh, of course he had to be such a trope. You took him by the chin and made him face you. “Start… talking.”
You voice could send chills down his spine, while relaxing him at the same time. If anyone would understand it was you. He told you what happened with him and Spirit, and the guilt he felt. “I put a kid in danger, just for going outside. I covered up, and nearly got her killed, and then I messaged you to see if you wanted to go out, and then… I didn’t want anything to happen to you.”
There is a moment of silence between you two as you consider everything he told you. You sighed, annoyed. “Really?”
“What?” Horangi shrugged, still refusing to make eye contact until you crossed your arms.
“You think I can’t take care of myself? I’m not a child.” You told him. “And clearly you know that otherwise you wouldn’t come out with me. If you need a break say the word, and we can find another alley. It’s not like I didn’t come without some defence.”
You gave him a warm smile and held his arm. Horangi wasn’t used to the tender side of you but he had to admit it was kind of hot.
“If I need a break?”
“Say the word.” You told him. “This is my way of saying thank you, and making you uncomfortable is the last thing I want.”
Horangi got this glint in his eye, one you’d seen before, his tail brushing your leg. Your face was turning pink, but you guess it was from the cold air.
“Shall we continue then?” He asked. You gave him a smirk and tugged him back to the market smiling and chatting with him. It was a good night, and it didn’t take long for there to be a light snow fall.
The market is filled with plenty of things to do, it's like a small fair. Kids were enjoying maple syrup on snow, some bean bag toss games, and of course snowballs being thrown. You and Horangi ducked stepped out of the way of a few throws. Then you felt a hard packed one fired at your back. You laughed, but it did kind of hurt.
Horangi looked up and saw it was some adult human. Didn't apologize either just smiled looking smug. He attacked a defenseless person in the back, and he was acting smug. Horangi barked at him, saying something in Korean, but you tugged him away. There was some barked comments about his masculinity and hybrids being dirty animals. You flipped them off continuing your stroll.
"Could've fought back." Horangi grumbled.
"And then there would be a fight, and the kids around would get scared, police would be called, fingers would be pointed and nothing would really get resolved." You told him. "We would give them what they want and get nothing out of it."
Horangi had to admit you had a point. You worked for Kortac as a mercenary but you were getting paid, you were getting what you wanted. Equal exchange. Starting a fight here, there would be nothing but problems. Although he had to ask one thing.
"So when you punched the guy at the convenience store...?" Horangi asked.
"Well he was a pig. Needed to be put in his place." You said, folding your arms. "And he was teasing Konig about his height."
Horangi chuckled. You always had to be the bigger person one way or another. It was attractive. Wait.
Horangi waited just outside a small store front, not wanting to be in the way of the other shoppers while you browsed the tables. The mask was back over his face, but it was more as a neck warmer. It seemed to intimidate a few people, which was fine with him. At least it was less likely for him to be hit with snowball. While he focused on you, everyone seemed to ignore him. Except one.
There was a tug on his jacket, that he at first thought was just the material getting caught on something. He brushed it aside, and then he felt a small hand. When Horangi looked down, he found a young boy staring up at him, and politely saying "Excuse me."
Horangi wasn't really used to kids, it had been a while since he'd seen any of his younger relatives. He raised a brow, and then looked around. Where was the boy's parents? The boy said again, "Excuse me?"
"Uhh... yes?" Horangi replied.
"Are you a hybrid?" The boy asked.
"Yes." Horangi answered. The boy's eyes seemed to widen as he asked what kind of hybrid Horangi was. Horangi knelt down so he could talk to the boy a little easier. It was getting pretty crowded, and he didn't want to kid swept up, though he guessed the boy may already have been based on the absence of a parent. The boy was honestly just curious about Horangi and haetaes, asking what Horangi could do, and what it was like.
When you came back from purchasing a small gift, you found the pleasant sight of Horangi letting the boy touch his tail. You also looked around for the child's guardians as you can over.
"You making friends?" You asked Horangi who looked up with the boy. Before Horangi could answer, the boy spoke up.
"Are you a lion?" He asked. You smiled, answering him. Then it was you getting overloaded with questions. You don't mind, he isn't asking anything rude, and you welcome curiousity. You don't mind him touching your tail either. He's having fun but you are concerned about his safety.
"Are your parents nearby?" You asked. The boy stopped looking at your tail and then looked around. Had he not noticed them missing? There was a worried and panicked look on his face, and Horangi stepped in immediately.
"Hey, it's okay. We'll find them. Do you remember where they were last?" Horangi asked. The boy looked on the brink of tears as he shook his head. You stood up and looked around for a security guard or maybe a volunteer running some of the activities.
"Did they have a spot for you to go if got lost?" You asked. The little boy nodded, sniffling. "Do you want us to take you there?"
The boy nodded again. You took the little one's hand as Horangi stood up, keeping an eye out for anyone who might be looking frantic or worried.
Thankfully as soon as you arrived at the spot the boy led you too, the mother was there, and rushed over to hug her child, checking that he was okay, while the boy was apologizing. The woman thanked you both profusely. Honestly it wasn't a problem at all, he was so polite. You waved good bye to your little friend as the mother took him into the crowd, carrying him.
"Not what I thought this thank you would look like." You said, sitting at a table with some food. Horangi shrugged, taking another bite of food.
"Not the worst reunion I've had." He pointed out. Now was a better time than any. You set the small gift bag on the table.
"Not sure if you celebrate but happy early holidays." You said. Horangi was a bit surpised, staring at the back for a moment, before takin it to opened it up. Inside was a necklace with a symbol cut out of wood. A symbol Horangi recognized, symbolizing luck.
"Not one for superstition, but I figured you could use all you could get." You said. Horangi smiled. Jewellery wasn't much his thing, but this, this he would wear. Could tuck it into his shirt if he needed.
"Worried you might lose me?" He teased.
"You know most people would just say thank you." You argued, deflecting the question. Horangi gave you that cheeky grin and you smiled back. Damn that grin was hot. You coughed realizing you were staring. Your face was turning warm.
"Your cheeks are rosy. You cold?" Horangi asked casually.
“Why don't we find a warm drink after this." You said, focusing on your food and avoiding the question.
“Thank you for the gift. I appreciate it.” He said. You relaxed. It would hopefully make him feel safer on missions.
You and Horangi had found warm cider, and a park bench to relax on to people watch. Horangi was still looking around, you were too. You didn’t have very long with each other, maybe a couple more days or so before Horangi had to ship out again. Still, you wanted all the details.
“A wraith? Really?” You said, sipping your drink, while keeping your voice low.
“Caught me off guard too.” Horangi admitted. “Nothing I couldn’t handle.”
“And Konig has more control?”
“Yeah that kid… that kid does something to you. It’s weird.” Horangi said, sipping his cider. He noticed your coy smile. “What?”
“Nothing.” You said. Something about the snow in his hair, and the scars peeking from behind his cup made him adorable and handsome all at once. You wondered if it was part of the lure a yokai could have. Horangi tries to ignore you, but then you get a thought in your head. You’d had this thought before but it was from a distance. And private.
“You know… I didn’t want to say it, cause of your pride.” Horangi started.
“My pride?” You asked, your smile now a scowl of confusion.
“Oh please you think you’re hot shit and you know it.” Horangi said with a raised brow.
“Cause I am hot shit, but go on. Tell me whatever it is that could wound or support my pride.” You commanded, puffing up your chest.
“You…um… you fight good.” He said. That took the wind out of your sail a bit. It was a nice compliment just… not what you’d hoped for.
“Thanks.” You said, feeling a little disappointed. You finished your drink and Horangi finished his quickly after. Suddenly he told you he needed a minute, so you followed him. Okay a little odd. Where was this going? He took you to the alley and you kept scanning the area. Nothing but happy people with a few tired and blank faces. No one trying to cover up their intentions. Horangi started to pace a little. You let him stir for a bit. It would go away. He was overwhelmed. You have a crazy idea. You approach him carefully and take hold of his shoulders. “Hey… what's wrong?"
Horangi stopped as soon as you got in front of him, looking at you. That red on his cheeks wasn't from the cold, and neither was yours. Horangi is still at war with himself because for the longest time he has been hiding, keeping a low profile while taking out higher ones. You weren't an easy target yourself, so he had little to fear for your well being. And he was still debating whether he wanted more than what he had. Once again, he refused to look at you.
"Nothing." Horangi answered after a brief moment of eye contact. Your tail flicked up, and a hand went to his neck. You found the sweet spot easily, and he started involuntarily chuffing. "It's nothing."
"Nothing is wrong?" You asked.
"Nothing at all." He said standing up straight.
"Good..." You said. Another moment passes, and both of you look around. Now was your chance. Horangi noticed your hand was still on his neck and moved his hand to remove it. Then your soft touch became firm. You tugged his mask down in one quick clean motion. You took your shot.
You kissed him. Horangi's eyes widened before relaxing and kissing you back. Your arms went around his neck, while he wrapped his arms around your waist and torso. You two weren't going to see each other for a while. This time was a thank you for the help with your family, but it was a chance to meet up, and see the person who meant a lot to you. You felt his tail go loosely around your leg. The world seemed muffled as you just focused and lost yourself in the moment.
After what felt like hours, your lips parted and you take a moment. Then you realized what had just happened, and you don't think your face has ever felt this red in your life. Now neither of you can make eye contact, and neither of you know what to say.
"S-sorry." You said. Horangi gave you a look. Yeah you couldn't believe you said that either. Then he started to snicker, and you punched him in the arm out of embarrassment. "Shut up!"
"What are you gonna do, kiss me again?" He asked with that same smug and cheeky smile. This joker.
"And what if I do?" You asked, folding your arms. Horangi had the best time when he got you to pout like that. It didn't look like a pout, you hid it well, but he could tell. Horangi's tail hadn't left your leg. He just smiled. The question still remained about what exactly just happened, but he didn't care. That could be discussed at a later date. Instead he gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"We should keep going." You said, still flustered. Horangi just grinned, and you wanted to smack him.
