My moment when i realized thatpoor people don't get to celebrate christmas the same way even middle class people do is when i joined the work force. Christmas just doesn't hit the same knowing i have to work one of the two days, if i'm lucky.

nothing makes me angrier than the middle class people going “wow, they’re making you work today?” to the people ringing them up on holidays. like... why the fuck do you think they’re working, you cocksucker? they’re working because you left your christmas shopping for the last minute and you cant live without stocking stuffers.

i wish i could give you a detailed answer, but it’s been a few years since i’ve watched the show. 

i think a lot of my preference for danny/valerie rests in my dislike of sam as character-- or rather the lack of acknowledgement of her flaws --and the fact that danny/valerie as a pairing hits a lot of tropes i’m very fond of. there’s the hero/antagonist dynamic going on, secret identities neither knows about, it’s an interracial couple, they break up despite still having feelings for one another... they remind me a lot of shayera hol and john stewart from justice league and i LOVE them together.
