Codename: Wolfstar, Chapter 3

I finally posted a new chapter!

Snippet:

Sirius handed Harry a bullet proof vest, which he started to wave away. Sirius got in his face and hissed, “Are you going to explain to your dad that you didn’t take every precaution when meeting with an unknown entity?”

“I know him,” Harry huffed, but took the vest and put it on under his shirt.

“You don’t. You can’t trust anyone except your team,” Sirius said, buttoning his dress shirt over his own vest. 

“It’s not always like that and you know it,” Harry said, impatiently. “You’re being overprotective. I have to be able to do my job.”

“And I’m doing mine,” Sirius countered. “Me and Remus are the lead agents on this mission which means it’s our job to bring your ass back in one piece.”

Harry seemed to get the message and stopped arguing, much to Sirius’s relief.Sirius knew Harry had the makings of a good agent. But he was still green and still had a lot to learn. And he was hot headed like James (and himself) which didn’t exactly help.

Codename Wolfstar: Chapter 7

Snippet:

Carrow, one of Riddle’s goons, shoved Sirius forward between the shoulder blades. He almost lost his balance but managed to steady himself without falling. When he straightened up, as much as his bound arms would allow, his eyes fell on a familiar figure. Dark haired, hook nosed, sallow skinned…he’d know that profile anywhere. 

Their eyes met for a split second. Then Carrow was shoving Sirius’s tux at Snape and locking Sirius into a dark room. Sirius was still clad in his boxers and undershirt. He didn’t know where he was. The ride in the van had taken all night. He could be anywhere. 

Fuck.

He and Remus were so close to having the life they wanted. So fucking close. 

There was a small window in the room where he could see the sun coming up. He was so tired.

Codename: Wolfstar, Chapter 5

In which the mission hits a dead end, and the team has to figure out their next move.

Snippet:

When they were all upstairs in Tonks, Kingsley and Harry’s room, Tonks looked at them all and said what they were all thinking, “So now what?”

Remus sighed. “We have to talk to Amelia. She’ll probably want us to come back to Washington now that the mission is a dead end.”

She nodded slowly. “Have you heard from the French agents?”

 “I spoke to Agent Delacour earlier and told her what we found. She probably took her team in anyway, just to be sure but…it seems like they’re awaiting orders just like we are,” Sirius said.

“There isn’t even any chatter on the wires,” Kingsley said, an ear piece in his ear as he listened to  his various devices. “It’s all quiet. I don’t get it.”

“Someone knew we were coming,” Sirius said, voicing the thought that had been nagging at his and Remus’s consciousness for the last day and a half. 

“Yeah but who…” Tonks began then trailed off. “Have we heard from Agent Snape recently?”

Codename: Wolfstar - Chapter 4

In which the team follows the tip from Krum and arrives in Albania where they make an unexpected connection.

Snippet:

“Harry, Tonks, you’re with me,” Sirius said. “Kingsley, you and Remus are going to the other door.” They all nodded at him as they donned their bullet proof vests and slid their guns into holsters. 

When they were ready, Remus and Kinglesy lead the way. Sirius, Harry and Tonks peeled off to go into their appointed door. Sirius pulled out his walkie talkie. “Agent Lupin, are you in position?”

“In position,” crackled the response. 

“On my count, 5,4,3,2,1-” said Sirius.

“CIA! Put your hands up!” Remus called from his door as Sirius and the others called the same from the other door. The five of them swarmed in, weapons ready, only to find the warehouse room very recently abandoned. Remus gestured for everyone to start checking under the hastily left desks and tables, and the couple of closets on one side of the room. 

“Clear,” called Tonks.

“Clear,” called Kingsley, leaving the closet door open. 

“Clear,” called Harry. 

“Motherfucker,” growled Sirius. “Someone tipped them off.”
