I'm thinking about how one of the twins fights for his brother's attention with his partner, because he wasn't used to having a "stranger" in their family.

This probably suits Bo better, but I can easily imagine Vincent in this situation too

Bo is very overt with his unhappiness. He's openly scoffing, saying mean things within earshot, making sure to exclude you whenever possible (makes just enough food for everyone but you, ect), maybe even bumping you out of the way. He was very much the "you can't come into our tree house club" type as a kid. Goes out of his way to get Vincent's attention- it's the nicest you'll ever see him towards his brother, while simultaneously guilt tripping him. Locks you out of the house all the time but pretends there's something wrong with the door. He's not good with having to share his brother- even if they weren't super affectionate before you came along.

Vincent is a lot more passive aggressive when he gets jealous. Makes sudden/loud noises to get Bo's attention back (slamming doors/things on the counter) Leaving notes for Bo in plane sight, signing to just him and suddenly stopping when you walk in the room. Makes a big deal about locking himself away for the day- signs things along the lines of <well, you clearly don't need me here....> Leaves for long periods of time, but frequently peaks in/makes trips thru the room while pretending to be busy but is really just doing it to interrupt you/spy. Makes sure you know that he can be anywhere at any time and you're never really alone with Bo

the woman in white will try to convince you that the main conflict in the character of laura is that she's divided between love for her tutor and duty to her shady husband. but if you're not afraid to look into the abyss you'll notice that the most prominent "love triangle" is between her husband and her sister. the sisters laura and marian have the most fervent declarations of love in the story, they are so codependent on each other that sometimes they speak of themselves as if they are one person despite their very contrasting personalities, they are both adult women who are unable to be separate from one another, they are each willing to suffer anything for the sake of the other, they are willing to die for each other. in the first half of the book laura is basically living in a very tumultuous bigamy with her husband and her sister.

DEAN: Whatever. You're alive, I feel good – for the first time in a long time. I got a year to live, Sam. I'd like to make the most of it. So what do you say we kill some evil sons of bitches and we raise a little hell, huh?

Thoughts on the end of 12x20

At first I didn't understand why Sam was telling Dean that he did the right thing by saving Max so he couldn't sell his soul. I was like, Sam, you KNOW you've let the world burn to save Dean before, what's all this about??? But I think I got it now. Sam thought Dean did the right thing because Max was a parallel to Dean, and Sam saw Dean in Max. Sam doesn't like when Dean makes deals to save him because he doesn't want Dean to suffer at his expense, he doesn't want Dean's soul to be traded for his. And THAT'S why he thought Dean did the right thing by trying to prevent Max from selling his soul for Alicia. It's not because he doesn't understand the concept of sibling codependency, because we all know Sam would sell his soul for Dean in a heartbeat. It's because Sam saw Max as a parallel to Dean just like we all did. Or it's just Sam being a hypocrite as the Winchesters usually are with their codependency on each other lol.

The way the child from Bunny Lake is Missing is essentially inbred. Yes her bio parents aren't related but then she's raised by a pair of siblings who have a married couple dynamic in every sense that matters, her uncle who embodies the role of her father and doesn't allow his sister to pursue any romantic relationships where she could give her daughter a proper dad. Through half of her formative years her parents were a brother and a sister who lived like husband and wife and raised her like she was their child.
