This is a family ditty from Thanksgiving- easily applied to other holidays– a visit to Leland Little Auction House to visit a certain item spied online by the in-laws! Art at auction foreshadowed by a small Robert Motherwell for sale to the gorgeous oversized one in the permanent collection at the NCMA. After a brief jaunt in Hillsborough, we headed to Raleigh to our magnificent state art museum.
The whole family (cousins from Raleigh, too!) saw the much heralded Leonardo DaVinci Codex of Leicester on loan from Bill Gates. (Whose wife went to Duke, I had recently learned!). I had been so excited to show the kids the MC Escher show, and it was no surprise that they really liked it!
We timed the tickets to allow for a yummy dinner at IRIS, apres!
So, these lovely days post holiday and before the new year– great time to visit the NC Museum of Art.
