The Chinese working class has been consistently striking, rioting, and fighting for increasing wages for decades now.

This is why the US ruling class of both factions are fighting with each other on who can demonize China more. Because they can't get cheap labor out of them as easily. This is what the US-allied west is fighting for: to push against the working class & to lay half-blind media narratives to make the natural reaction "oh well of course they're the bad guys who need to be stopped"

This is who we valorize when talking about China's progress: the 1.3 billion working people fighting every day to make their lives better.

Thinking about how the narrative of Cold War II must work inside China and Russia. In World War II, there were seven major powers: US, UK, China, and the USSR vs Germany, Italy, and Japan.*

Right now, the coalitions involve: US, UK, Germany, Italy, and Japan vs China and Russia.

Numerically, you could easily say that the US and the UK joined the former enemies and China and Russia are standing alone again.

Obviously, there is a great deal of utter bullshit in that, given that last time, China and the USSR were very much under assault and on the defensive (Well, except in 1939-41 when the USSR and Germany started WWII in Europe), and now they're likely to be the offensive parties.

But it's just funny to think about from a purely numeric standpoint.

* As a side note, I didn't realize just how quickly the French mobilized following the liberation of France in 1944. By May 1945 they had 1.25 million soldiers under arms. This makes the decision to put them on the security council a lot more reasonable.
