Jaejoong just stands there with hands on his hips and huffs at the silly young man. Why, Kim Jaejoong is a fabulous human to have as your nurse! He’s caring and loving and gentle but firm oh yes firm and good with his hands and fingers-

Coming back to himself, Jaejoong blinks blankly at the very distrustful glare he’s being given from the hooded sickly dongsaeng in the bed. Sighing, rolling his eyes, and throwing his hands up to let them clap down against his sides, Jaejoong comes over to the bed to sit down on the side of it, not touching Jonghyun, but close enough to make the younger draw the blankets around him tighter.
Wanting to pet at the young man’s hair to soothe him, the porn star has to settle for petting the shorter bedridden guy with the blanket as a barrier. He hopes it helps a little anyways.
“Yun-ah had to go out and do that business crap, the stuff that makes him rich, you know?” Jaejoong says lightly, the curse rolling out of his mouth more like an every day word. “He’ll be back soon enough to deal with your grouchy. He adds on the second bit like he has to remind himself of this fact, but there’s still a linger of hopefulness in his expression like maybe Jonghyun will take up this chance to bond their friendship?
Jaejoong’s fingers end up getting dirtied by a lot of things. Some of them speakable, and others… less so. Yet to Jaejoong, its hardly ever a thought of being ‘dirtied’, but rather simply a life experience coloring his skin.
Even when its something less societally ‘innocent’, like well aged tequila or even more, the bodily fluids that get striped over his fingers during work. Or when its the mess his nieces make of their lunches when he’s playing at the ridiculous and energetic Uncle Joongie for them. Of course he doesn’t value those things any differently than he does the smears of paint or charcoal over his knuckles while expressing himself in a quieter medium. Which is what he’s got coloring his fingers now as he reaches out to touch at the younger friend.
He’s already forgotten what Yunho said to him the other day, that he ought not to touch without permission.
Its not done out of malice, Jaejoong isn’t thoughtful enough for that. Things slip his mind as readily as vinegar turns to vapors at the lightest bit of heat. Its the tangible sort of learning, the tactile kind of information that he desires so much, not the intellectual education of facts and academia. Its the same sort of mentality that makes him so enthusiastic about finding something new to touch with his hands, particularly when that new thing is another human.
Social and experimental fingers that strive for being colored daily reach out to get to know Jonghyun, to touch a little bit of the individualized art inside of someone else.
As soon as her phone went off, she unlocked the screen, taken aback by the contact name that she felt the need to take a second look; making sure that she wasn’t hallucinating or going out of her mind already. A small smile then etched across her lips— still unsure of what she was supposed to respond. A part of her didn’t want to see him anymore, all because she couldn’t handle the thought of her hurting him emotionally; yet again, he is such an important person to her that she just couldn’t afford to stay away for too long. It took her a short while to finally reply back to him, and truth be told, it was a lot harder for her to press the ‘send’ button than she had initially pegged.

Who would be the big spoon?
KIM JONGHYUN. He’s the big spoon, most of the time, but it honestly depends sometimes. He likes to keep her warm in his arms at night, but whenever Aster feels as though he’s more down than usual, she’d force him to be the little spoon and hug him throughout the night just so he could feel better.
Who would wake up first?
Jonghyun. Since he’s an insomnia, he wakes up earlier than her— and even if she wakes up early sometimes, she has the tendency to fall back asleep since she’s quite the lazy butt early in the morning. Not to mention the fact that he enjoys cooking breakfast and preparing little things for her in the mornings. God forbid Aster being the first one waking up and set fire to their kitchen by attempting to cook breakfast for Jonghyun.
Do they have nicknames for each other?
Yes, a lot of nicknames actually. Ranges from the silliest ones to endearing ones, depending on their moods— despite the fact that they tease and bicker (in the most loving way possible) half the time.
What happened when they met each other’s parents?
It’d honestly be awkward if she ever gets the chance to meet his father. Being the person she is, it’s in her nature to be nice to almost everyone she comes across, yet she would have absolutely no idea how to act around his father, assuming if he had told her all the things he did and the maltreatment he had received when he was younger. As for Aster’s creator, Jong would probably…faint? I have no idea, but if not necessary, she would never bring anyone to her parent.
How do they apologise after an argument?
They rarely argue on serious matters, mostly they banter with each other but no harm done. Though, if there’s a time where both of them get into a heated argument, Jong would whip up his trick with the puppies, cooing them in her face which he knows is her weakness. He might not apologise straight away considering how…timid he could be sometimes? Aster on the other hand, she’s rather childish but a lot bolder at apologising even she’s not in the wrong. She’d try her best to be as close to him as possible, displaying affectionate gestures and muttering apologies close to his ear, follow him around like a puppy until he decides to forgive her.
What would they be like as parents?
OH MY GOD. Okay. I feel like Jonghyun would try his best, better than the best to be a great dad, due to the whole maltreatment by his father, he wouldn’t his kids, or anyone to go through the same thing. He would come off as a playful dad, warm and gentle. I see him as the dad who’s really mushy with his children? He’d stick around them half the time, teasing Aster that she might scare the kids with her mere presence, hence the fact that he spends most of the time looking after his kids, and fall asleep with them, oftentimes.
Then we have mama Aster. Since both of them know that kids are her weakness, she’d coo their kids as much as Jong does, but she could come off as a bit strict when needed to be, keeping the kids disciplined while the dad spoils them rotten.
Who is the better cook?
Jonghyun, undoubtedly. Jonghyun whines all the time about how he’d rather starve than eat the food she cooks.
Who is more romantic?
They both are. They’d be the whipped couple that still throws around loving insults at each other. Though, rather than saying cheesy things to each other, they prefer affectionate gestures. Like, out of nowhere, he’d just hug and kiss her whole face merely because he’s feeling rather…affectionate? Same goes for Aster— but in this case, she’s more keen on those gestures, she’s a liiiittle bolder, even just by little; but that counts for something.
What sort of gifts do they get for each other?
They don’t often buy significant gifts for each other unless it’s on a special occasion, but as for gifts they usually get for each other, Aster would buy him cute little things; like leather bracelets, or even small necklace that would remind him of her. Not to mention, she adores buying clothes for the puppies and giving them to him as ‘his present’. I see Jonghyun buying her single flowers and leaving them on the dinning table whenever he leaves for work, or just any kind of sweets that she likes.
Who gets jealous easiest?
They both get jealous easily. Jong would be the type to keep quiet whenever he feels jealous, he wouldn’t talk it out so straight to the point with her, and would sit in the corner, grumbling all day whenever he’d feel like she’s spending too much time with someone other than him— but she catches on rather quickly. Aster would be more open about it, though. She’s like a child who’s quite possessive of her little barbie doll.
Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas?
Aster, she’s a kid at heart, there’s no doubt about it. She’d ask him to set up Christmas tree during late November, just because “IT’S THE HOLIDAAAAAYS.”
Who is the most adventurous?
Aster, she’s always looking for excuses to take him places and just hangout. Doesn’t matter where, just as long as they’re together and they have something exciting to do. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to stay still— in fact, she can be cooped up in their room all day if he’s there with her.
Who is the most protective?
Jonghyun, sometimes he sees her as a little girl who needs protection, all because he doesn’t like seeing anyone hurt her, physically, emotionally. He just doesn’t like the idea of her being hurt; but Aster’s protective in the sense of comforting him whenever he’d say bad things about himself. She’d be all “no, no, no. Don’t ever say that because you’re wonderful.” or something like that, yeah.
What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts?
It’d be something along the lines of Honda Touru and Sohma Kyo of Fruits Basket. Jong would be hesitant to let her in at first, and denies that he actually enjoys her company, while Aster would always look out for him, care for him until he finally decides to let his guard down for her, and her only.
