Berkeley: Cole Coffee
Espresso: $2.25 Coffee: $2.50 Cappuccino: $3.25 Tea: $2.50
During my two-week training in Berkeley, I stayed at a colleague’s house near Claremont and College Avenue, hitching rides to work and befriending her two cats. She recommended the neighborhood’s Cole Coffee, which apparently has a “cult following” on a block that boasts a Starbucks, a Philz Coffee, and a Peet’s.
We had a busy Halloween night planned, complete with cookie baking, a trip to the famous Russell Street, and me bucking tradition and actually wearing a costume (as a mime). So I spent a peaceful afternoon at Cole Coffee, listening to an audiobook and watching costumed kids and adults walk by. Boo! Website

Free is lovely.
Nothing tastes like free coffee.
