wip for my first lenormand deck! i really like it, i'm just missing the people cards. i was thinking i'd make multiple versions of each. the child is straightforward, for the man and woman card i was thinking making person + partner, or self + other, or something like that. the heteronormativity inherent to the traditional cards is easy to circumvent, the amatonormativity not so much. for polyamory im thinking there could be partner cards that have multiple people on them, and for a reading about the entire group one might add a card for each partner and expand the grand tableau to hold more cards. for nonpartnering aros the "other" card could porhaps be a best friend or important person if applicable, or maybe simply societal expectations about partnerships?

Seven of last winters batch of collage greeting cards.

Making them is kind of a yearly tradition for me. I usually make them in steps. I add something to one card. Then I take a different card and find something to add on that one. Later I might return to the first card. Or I might not. So all of these went through several rounds of that. Some of the materials I create intentionally. Some of them are byproducts of painting other stuff. (Like paper that I used to mix paint on, or paper that I put on my table to protect it during painting.) Sometimes it’s cut up drawings or paintings that I don’t like enough anymore. Sometimes even other collage cards that didn’t quite work out. Another material I like to use are flea market booklets that are like almost a century old. Like really old journals or dictionaries. The last two cards have that. Making collage cards Is what I think might have contributed a lot to how I make color schemes. Because the figure is added last, if at all. And for most of it I was basically just working with abstract shapes and that gives space to experiment and figure out what kinds of combinations and compositions I like looking at the most.
