Ekoroo’s Collapsible Straw wins Gold at Australian Non-Toxic Awards
The Australian Non-Toxic Awards held by My Non-Toxic Tribe, celebrates Australian products that are designed with the body, environment, and society in mind. In its second year of the competition Ekoroo was thrilled to not only have won the Gold Award for its Collapsible Straw, but to also have received multiple awards for the products we are so passionate about.
The product categories within the Australian Non-Toxic Awards include Makeup, Skincare, Haircare, Home, Food and Drink, and many more. Our eco-friendly reusable products were judged within the zero-waste category of the competition, where they received various awards. All Ekoroo products were recognised for their non-toxic materials and sustainable packaging, as well as for being FDA approved and vegan friendly.
The Ekoroo Collapsible Straw was the star of the show, receiving the Gold Award within the Reusable Straws category, commended by the judging panel for its compact design, the stylish look of the carry case, its clever telescopic feature, allowing for the straw to be used for drinks of any size, and the included cleaning brush.

Ekoroo’s Stainless Steel Water Bottle received the Silver Award within the Drink Bottle category, commended by the judging panel for its double insulation which effectively keeps cold drinks cool and warm drinks hot, the wide neck allowing for a fast flow rate and a comfortable drinking experience, as well as the unique design of the bottle that sets it apart from other brands.

Four Ekoroo products were finalists: the Menstrual Cup, Bamboo Toothbrush, Food Covers, and the Collapsible Cup. The judges loved the size and soft silicone of the Menstrual Cup, allowing for easy insertion and long use, as well as the minimal packaging and carry bag. The Bamboo Toothbrushes were admired for their colourful tips that prevent mould, the soft yet effective bristles, and the shape of the handle that allows for a comfortable grip.
The Food Covers were commended for their variation in size, allowing for extensive use for both circular and square containers, the see through design which reduces food waste, and the versatility with being microwave and dishwasher safe. Finally, the Collapsible Cup was appreciated for its ability to stretch out to 350mL, its ability to store heat well and be folded down into a small compact size that can easily fit in a handbag.
The expert judging panel for the Australian Non-Toxic Awards were an incredibly diverse group of Australians who are all passionate about non-toxic products, sustainability, and living well. These individuals all come from different backgrounds, including health journalists, yoga instructors, environmentalists, nutritionists and content creators. They all spent time examining each of the products with hands-on testing to decide on the winners, and we are so grateful for their time.
