@colonel-licorice I drew you behind the counter of your bakery
sketch of Colonel licorice and Colonel Noodle(Colonel Licorice is an oc not mine, but I don't know exactly which user this character belongs to), The funny thing is that Noodle has the Smoosh-shroom smile
Although I was very busy lately, I somehow managed to make this drawing of Raparra and Licorice. I'll continue writing the story as soon as I have time.
This is my first drawing I made with charcoal, and I've chosen to draw Licorice. It's not so easy to draw with it, because charcoal smudges very easily. But the shading effects you can made with charcoal seems endless. I just need a bit more practice.

5. Meeting with Bittery Mocha
Licorice and Raparra walked to the old clock tower. Meanwhile it has become foggy. The disco wasn’t far away from the old clock tower in the down town, so it doesn’t took much time, then they two arrived at the old clock tower. The tower was surrounded by a large paved square, old lanterns standing on this square, and around this square stood the buildings from the down town, typical buildings of a historic down town. Licorice and Raparra scanned the entire square, expecting to find Bittery Mocha.
Then Raparra spotted someone near the entrance door of the clock tower. This person seemed to be very interested not to attract too much attention. Raparra took a closer look to this person. As he looked exactly, he recognized this person. It was Bittery Mocha, Raparra knew her from the past. Raparra said to Licorice: “Look, by the door of the clock tower, that is Bittery Mocha! I know her from the past, but my relationship to her is the same difficult one like with CJ”. Licorice nodded understandingly but determined to Raparra as he said: “Okay, I understand, but let’s go to her!”. Raparra and Licorice approached Bittery Mocha, she was obviously investigating something. As Raparra and Licorice was close enough to Bittery Mocha, Raparra said: “Hi Bittery Mocha! Do you remember me?” Bittery Mocha looked up surprised to Licorice and Raparra, then she said: “Oh, well, Raparra! It’s been a long time since we met last. Are you still a violinist who works for Kuro Kit? I was lately on a concert from you, because I had to investigate something there. You played, let’s say acceptable. But I missed your passion in your violin playing. But I think you still have an eternity to get better, isn’t it so?” Bittery Mocha said this intentionally, because she exactly knew that she will hit a sore point by Raparra. Raparra felt that his wrath and anger come over him, but he tried to stay diplomatic. So his answer was only dry: “Fine that I can at least amuse you with my fate.”
Licorice wanted that this tense situation not go wrong, so he quickly took the initiative and he said to Bittery Mocha: “Hi, my name is Licorice, your friend CJ told me where we can find you!” Bittery Mocha turned her gaze away from Raparra to Licorice and she said: “Ah, you are Licorice. Even we don’t met each other before, but as investigative journalist I know about you! You run a bakery in this town, right? My friend CJ buy sometimes pastries in your bakery. But tell me, what is the reason that you two came to me?” Then her gaze turned again to Raparra with a critical expression. Licorice replied: “We need your help. And we think that you as investigative journalist can help us!” Bittery Mocha’s expression turned into a sarcastic smile, as she said: “Oh, darling, do you think you can afford my services? I’m one of the best investigative journalists here in hell, and my services are not cheap. Aside from that, I’m also very busy always. Currently I investigate something about the owner of this bar on the other side of this square.” Raparra and Licorice took a look to the bar who was opposite from the clock tower. Bittery Mocha continued to speak: “The owner has recently some cool techno trance music in his bar for some reason, and I bet he stole some music records of my friend CJ. I’m here to look which business partners the owner of the bar has, and then I will squeeze them out and make them spill the beans! But, just out of interest, and because I’m a supportive person, what is that case where you could need my help?”
Licorice said determined: “We want to escape from this place, the hell! And we heard that you are a person who could have knowledge about.” The he nodded as he finished the sentence. Bittery Mocha looked surprised at Licorice, then she started slightly to smile and said: “Oh, boy, that’s a tall order, isn’t it? I mean, it’s not like that something can just say to you: just walk 5 miles in this direction, and at the next crossing there is the exit of hell! Many people before tried to find an exit, but I never heard about that someone managed it to escape from this place. I mean, some people where never seen again after they searching for an exit. Did they found it? Or got they an even worse fate? No one knows.” Licorice and Raparra looked to each other. In Raparra’s eyes Licorice could see a hint of insecure now, but Licorice was still determined, and with his typical charm he asked Bittery Mocha: “So, you may be the best investigator here in hell, but you have no idea if there's an exit?" Bittery Mocha’s interest was piqued as she replied to Licorice: “Oh, that’s not exactly what I meant. I already did investigations about this place, the hell, out of my own interest. But I can tell you, that’s a very dangerous field that you want to investigate, and I think those trousers would be rather too large for you, wouldn’t they?” Licorice and Raparra looked again to each other. Licorice could see in Raparra’s expression that his determination seems to be back. So Licorice answered to Bittery Mocha: “We are not afraid to take on this challenge!” Bittery Mocha replied: “How brave of you two! But to be honest, as investigator I’m also really interested to solve the mysteries of the hell, and perhaps we can find an agreement where we all win.” Licorice said curious, but with a hint caution in his voice: “What have you to offer?”
Bittery Mocha answered: “I have some information about your matter.” Licorice replied: “And what do you want for it? What’s the price?” Bittery Mocha answered again: “You have to do the further investigations for me and report what you figured out. As I said: that aren’t a harmless investigation of some petty theft, you are playing here with forces that should not to be trifled with. But if you two really want to face this challenge, I share you my knowledge what I have so far about!” Licorice and Raparra swallowed briefly after hearing this. But they two did know that this was perhaps the only chance they the two will ever get to escape from the hell. So both nodded and Licorice said: “Okay, tell us what you know, we will investigate that further!” Bittery Mocha smiled slightly, as she put out a small piece of paper from the pockets of her jacket. Then she said: “That’s a map of the cursed woods, it will lead you to a signpost. As far as I know, this signpost will you lead further to an incredible wonderful and beautiful place, and here you should be able to find the truth about how this place, the hell works. And perhaps also the answer how you can escape.” Bittery Mocha handed the map over to Licorice. Then Bittery Mocha continued to speak: “But you two have to be carefully, the cursed woods have the name not for no reason! And I also want you two to return, not because I like you two that much, but I’m eager to hear what you two will have figured out when we meet next time!” A bit of a mischievous tone was to hear in her voice. Licorice took the map and said nonchalant to Bittery Mocha: “Don’t be afraid! I and Raparra will make it! Bye for now!” Raparra also said “Bye, Bittery Mocha!” The they two turned around and walked away. While the two were walking away, Raparra said to Licorice: “Do you believe her that the answers can be found on a place that is incredible wonderful and beautiful? I can hardly believe that such a place can exist in this realm.” Licorice answered: “It’s really hard to say, Raparra. I mean, I have already seen some things in this place that I never thought that they exist here. I think we can just go and see.” Raparra nodded to Licorice. Then Licorice continued to speak:” But it is late now, and it is a long way to the cursed woods. I would say we go home and try to get some sleep, then we met us again in the early morning at my bakery to start our journey to the cursed woods.” Raparra replied: “Yeah, I think that’s a good idea! We see us tomorrow. Bye, my friend!”. Licorice said also: “Good bye, Raparra!” Then Raparra walked away in the direction of his home. But what they two didn’t know: One of Kuro Kit’s agents where listen to the two while they was speaking with Bittery Mocha.
Raparra arrived at his home, it was a little house. He went inside. Inside it was perfectly clean, neat and tidy. A reflection of Raparra’s perfectionism. As he hung his jacket on the cloth rack, he saw the violin case with his violin inside. He said in a gentle tone to his self: “My violin, my talent.” Then his wrath washed over him and he said: “The talent that became my curse!” Then he saw a picture hanging on the wall above the violin case. It was a black and white photo of him and Licorice. Both were standing in the front of Licorice’s bakery, and both were smiling sligthly in this photo. A very rare sight. Raparra voice softened again as he said: “My talent became a curse for me, how could that happen? But I’m grateful to have you as my friend, Licorice, you are my rock” Then Raparra went to his bedroom to sleep.
Kuro Kit when she get another contract. As info: Kuro Kit is from the @colonel-licorice au.
1. The beginning
It was a day as usually at this place, the hell. Raparra came from his music concert that he have done in order of Kuro Kit. Since he signed a contract with her, he was her own, and he has to do what he had committed himself to Kuro Kit. and in his case it was to play violin for the doomed. He never was too obsessed into play violin, but the thrill, the joy and the fame that can came with it was always his motivation, he wanted to be a star in the scene of classic music, and no doubt, he also had the talent for it. But he never wanted it this way. Kuro Kit promised him all this things he wanted, but at the end it was a trap. Kuro Kit wanted only to achieve her goals, get another talented musician under her claws, forced to play for her and for whoever she wants. Nowadays, also Raparra sees it clearly by himself. It was a mistake what he has done. A heavy mistake. But now, what should happen next? Is he really trapped for an eternity? Every time this thoughts come up in him, he tried to focus on something else, because it would be to heavy just to think about.
Gratefully, he meet a special person here in hell, a man that runs a bakery at this place. Licorice is his name, and he’s his best friend, both share the fate of a troublesome past, which brought them finally to this place. When a music concert was over, and Raparra was exhausted from playing violin, a talent that previously given him joy and self-confidence has now became a curse, Licorice was always here to lend him an ear, and distract him from his worries. Also on this day. Raparra walked in Licorice bakery, and took a seat on the counter. Licorice saw that his friend Raparra has arrived from his music concert. He walked over to him: “Hello Raparra, I see you have finished your concert? Do you want to have a cup of tea?” Licorice asked him sincerely, with his usual deadpan expression. Raparra answered with a hint of a wrath tone in his voice “Why not?” Licorice was acquainted that Raparra was often wrath, especially after a music concert, but this time it was different, there was also a tone of pessimism in his voice. As his friend, Licorice grabbed some cookies with licorice flavor and handed them over to Raparra, and he said: “Do you want to have a sweet treat? You know, when times are hard, sweets comes handy!” Raparra looked at Licorice, who had still his deadpan expression on his face. Raparra did know that this was a habit that Licorice formed through his troublesome past. Raparras expression are softened due to the kind gesture of his friend Licorice, then he said: “Thank you, Licorice! I really appreciate this gesture, but I’m afraid this time even licorice cookies, my favorite cookies, are not able to get up my mood.”
Licorice felt that Raparra this time was more concerned then usually, something was obviously in his mind, and so Licorice asked in a very direct tone, because Licorice was known for that he speak out things that think sometimes immediately: “Raparra, what’s going on, today you seem concerned and wrath to me, I mean, more then usually.” As Licorice this said, he said it with a coquette undertone in his voice, a quirk that he also formed over years, but nothing he had always under control. Raparra answered: “You are right, Licorice! I’m indeed more wrath and concerned then usual, because I thought much about my situation in my life, and I come to the conclusion, that nothing changes. I always perform here in the hell for the doomed, a waste of my talent, because I signed once this damned contract. But that’s not the point, the real thing that makes me angry and desperate is, that it probably never will change, this place is a place for eternity with no way out, and I can’t accept this!”
The anger that Raparra had was easily to hear in his voice, and also his disappointment. Licorice looked around over his bakery. The dim light of a typical day in hell was shining through the windows, three other guests were also sitting at the tables in the bakery. In the background where really old music to hear which comes from an old jukebox in the bakery. Licorice usual deadpan expression on his face turned into a determined expression, a rare sight, and then he looked in Raparra’s eyes and he said: “If you really want, Raparra, perhaps we can change our situation. Once and for all.” Raparras look on his face turned into an astonished expression. “Really, Licorice?” he said with a hint of surprise, curiosity and uncertainty. “Yes, Raparra! But it won’t be easy. So I ask you, Raparra as my friend: do you want to try it with me to escape, even we have to face many obstacles on this journey to our freedom?”. Licorice said in a more determined tone. Raparra was thinking about what Licorice said, his mind was racing by considering the consequences. Then his expression turned also in a determined look, and he said also with a determination in his voice: “Yes, Licorice, I want to try to escape from this place, it doesn’t matter what kind of difficulties comes in our ways. I already stuck for too long in this place, and when there is any chance for me and you to escape, then I will take it on!”. Licorice looked at Raparra, still determined, but then he turned around, showing Raparra his back while he was looking in a mirror behind the counter of the bakery.
Raparra could still see Licorice’s face in the mirror, his expression showed a sign of frustration and anger, then Licorice started to talk: “When we want to escape, there is one person who knows how this realm, the hell works. And we have to contact them, even I thought I have never to see this person again.” Licorice turned again around back to Raparra, still with the same expression on his face and continued to talk: “It’s my father. You know that I don’t like him, and that is still a very friendly wording for what I feel for him. You also know that he played a major role in why I finally end up in this place, the hell.”
Raparra looked at Licorice with understanding for the emotions of his friend Licorice and said: “I feel with you, Licorice! It’s the same with me and Kuro Kit, but thankfully Kuro Kit isn’t a member of my family. So, I can only relate partially how heavy this must weight for you.” Licorice stared at Raparra, a hint of appreciation in his face for the kind words of Raparra. “Thanks, Raparra! I really appreciate your understanding for my situation.” Raparra answered: “But Licorice, I don’t get it entirely, you always told me that your father is a dentist, why should exactly he have some special information's about the hell and how things here exactly work?” Licorice look on his face turned into a sarcastic smile, as he continued to talk: “Well, let’s say to be a dentist is only one part of his businesses. He has also a way more darker “business”, but through this, he has contacts to people they have much more knowledge about the hell then anyone else. And I think this is the only way we can find an escape for us.” Raparra thought for a moment about, but then he said with determination: “Okay, Licorice! I will do this with you together! When you are ready to face your father again and ask him how we can escape, then I’m willing to support you as good as I can. We are into this together, when if not now!” Licorice nods to Raparra with appreciation for his support and with a small smile on his face, then he says: “Alright Raparra! Let’s go! We visit my father in his villa. But we have to be careful, he’s not the type of a person we should mess with.” Raparra nods in agreement and also with a small smile, a rare sight for Raparra, to Licorice, then they two get ready to go.
