Early Childhood - Memory Game

In the sensorial area we play lots of games with the materials to help train the mind to hold information. The basic concept is simple:

one material

two locations

make a match or build a sequence across the distance holding the “needed” piece of information in your mind.

This sounds simple, but when you think about everything this young child must do in order to accomplish this, it’s quite remarkable. They not only need to hold in their mind which color they are looking for, but they must do this while they walk across a busy room, full of interesting activities and distracting conversations that easily pull their attention.

Sucks to be Barnes & Noble: In a move that is going to really hurt, the company is going to drop its Nook color tablets, which are currently selling so poorly that you can pick up a 9-inch Nook HD+ for less than $150 and the smaller Nook HD for less than $130. If we may offer a bit of casual observer advice to B&N, we would like to say this: You sold these too aggressively in your brick-and-mortar stores. It had the side effect of turning people off to the brand entirely. (Side note: It's worth noting that the black-and-white Nook models are still doing OK.)
