Fresh out of the kiln, and still warm to the touch, but I left my fade backdrop outside last night. Nice line of frost in the background. 😂 . The new Parakeet Yellow from @coyoteclayandcolor breaks into cool drips on their Crystalline Nebula. Parakeet wants to be a solid color, like it is on the top, but the runny crystalline underneath is pulling it apart. Such a great effect. I’m using Hydra Scale at the bottom as a “catcher glaze” to give the drippy crystalline space to stop. Hydra Scale is amazing. It has been adopted into my standard glazes. . I am so glad Coyote Clay asked me to test their new glazes. I have really enjoyed playing with them. I am sure there will be more test tiles that I squeeze into the little open spaces of each kiln load, but it is time to put these beauties to work. Making mugs today.
