I feel THE SAME. like pat stew made me cry. But the science is like, bill nye level. Or less.
Yeah, like, I don't feel like they're really doing a lot of new stuff with the science and none of what they've talked about has been super mindblowing.
Of course when I watched the original Cosmos it was mindblowing because I was like six or eight years old, but I feel like, shouldn't the new series address the, oh, nearly 35 years of science that have happened since then? Instead I feel like it's spending a lot of time dancing around trying not to offend Fox's core viewership of conservative and/or religious people while still saying "hey but guys hey science is real tho" and just rehashing stuff from the original series. I think that's somewhat understandable, but kind of a failure because there was never really going to be a good way to make this show without irritating those regular Fox viewers a little bit, and by going so lowest-common-denominator with it they're also kind of losing viewers who are actually there for the science.
