I’m going to be honest, tho.... I kinda hated the finale. And the majority of season three.

Nearly every character was shoved aside to make way for Cassandra’s overblown temper tantrum, and we the viewers are expected to agree with Rapunzel and forgive Cass right away? I think not.

Plot threads that were made to seem like a big deal got hastily wrapped up and characters that we actually care about are treated like dirt in a vain attempt for us to sympathize more with Cass. The whole season felt half-baked and emotionally manipulative (which matches perfectly with Cassandra’s villain arc) and the finale was the culmination of an entire season’s worth of disappointments. With the rest of the season being the way it was, there isn’t really a lot they could have done to write the finale in a satisfying way— not without completely reworking season three from scratch.

All in all, I was let down, and I know a lot of other fans were too. For a show whose motto is “There Is More In You”, its finale felt disappointingly hollow.
