one of my friends is a trans guy and i know a lot of times it makes him uncomfortable to talk about it. how could i go about making sure everything is okay and letting him know if he needs to talk to me he definitely can without bringing up a subject that makes him uncomfortable?
I’d say it’s best to just be straightforward with him. Tell him that you have noticed that he is uncomfortable and that you want to be there for him if he ever needs someone to talk to.
He might not pick you up on the offer, but I’m sure he would appreciate the gesture. Knowing that you have supportive people around you can be a huge relief, even if you choose not to reach out to them.
