WIP ceramic sculpt based on my Commander Easyglider Twilight art. Photos taken by my husband!
I'm still quite amateur at this, but it's progress over my last sculpt, and I learned more things in the process. :) Because it's kiln-fired clay, there's no armature underneath - everything is free-standing; attachments went better than my last winged figure. There's a hairline crack at the base of one wing though, that I'm hoping will cover up with underglaze. :/ I omitted the sunglasses from the original art, because I'm hoping to make those out of something transparent (plastic?) instead - if any crafty artists out there have a suggestion for a good material, I'm all ears.
I've also thought about making a base for the statue that resembles the original art's BG - maybe later.

Commander Easyglider with Businessmen Iron Will by DustyPony
This is a patch made for the back of a jacket for Dustykatt's Easyglider cosplay at Babscon 2015. About 50 hours of digitizing, 242,583 total stitches and roughly 14 hours of actual machine embroidery time, and out comes this. I am ecstatic with how it came out. The only hangup was that I was expecting it to take around 20 hours to digitize and it actually ended up taking about 50; spread across about 3 weeks of calendar time. A lot of that was figuring out how to layer all the stitches correctly; there are 52 color changes in total across 15 colors.
Based on art by spacekitty and done with permission. All profit from these is donated to charity by spacekitty’s request. Spacekitty was also nice enough to help me with some of the pre-digitizing work, cutting about 30 hours off the digitizing time.
