#TBT six years ago, 2011, I was finishing up fieldwork in Kenya, traveling to different schools for the Deaf and talking with teachers about the relationship between HIV/AIDS, Deafness, sign languages, sexuality, and education. It was scary and exhausting being on my own on a foreign country and learning a different language all while trying to collect data....And all without Travis...Or Starbucks. :) But I did it. Since then I've discovered that while I was a pretty kick-ass education scholar, I'm a way better filmmaker.
