Did anyone else think that computer labs had the most comforting smell ever or was it just me? I'd kill for a candle that could capture the essence of a computer lab from 2008.
Ok but Scooby Doo: Cyber Chase has serious dark academia feels but in a computer science setting lmao. An aesthetic I've been craving ever since.
- A dark empty computer lab with the only light and sound coming from the computers
- Being the last one to leave and shut everything down
- Freaky electronic glitches
- Accidentally gaining access to a profile someone forgot to log off of or higher clearance level of administrative access
*Ok but really this happens so much, when you're using a school computer lab, DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN OUT OF EVERYTHING BEFORE LEAVING this is like leaving a big fat electronic wallet behind
*I had a weird moment with my school portal one night after staying up late with it open, the idle sensor that is used to lock you out after long inactivity accidentally logged me out of my student account and logged me back in as a school of medicine faculty akdnfjwksnfj
- Instant messaging others from across the room and sneaking glances past your computer screens
- Ridiculous screen savers and profile pictures/avatar
- The adrenaline rush of uploading onto a flash drive at the last minute
- Lab Contraband (YOU ALREADY KNOW..NO FOOD OR DRINK)
Inspired by his interest in computer design, Pierre Cardin created the “Computer” coat in 1980. His coat featured fins on the back, similar to those Cardin had seen on his visits to computer labs. The “Computer” coat’s pleats also evoked the design of functional cooling vents, which were found along the edges of computer models in the 1970s and 80s.

Literally the only thing I have left to do today is print some documents, but they don’t have a fucking wireless printer at this place and they’re signing up a new tenant and that’s taking up the computer time, so I’m literally just sitting here waiting to print before I can go home.
Since technology and the Fair Folk don't really mix well, I feel like computer labs on Campus would become almost safe spaces. Places where They don't really like to go into. Most of Them tend to stay away. And it might be a good place where you can discuss Them with a small chance of being over heard. Plus the buzzing of the fluorescent lights, the hum of computers, the swirling screen savers and mouse clicking provide a stark contrast to the old, strange feeling of the rest of The University.
