So obviously I didn’t count these two flash-forwards as “days”. Though I think I’ll be keeping an eye out for our two month mark to place this scene chronologically. Now, I originally only shot this for that purpose, but I just realised while took this shot that they’re not wearing their winter uniforms. I want to say they’re wearing their summer uniforms, but isn’t their summer uniform a yellow vest? The episode, in fact, dates this as a June wedding. An early episode happening in June and a six-month timespan for the rest of the series should not have a Valentine’s special. 

I have this nagging feeling seasonal indicators like uniform changes are going to be problematic.

Okay, but like I know Sonoko and so does Shin-chan. Does he really think anyone is going to find the truth more believable coming from Sonoko’s mouth than his?

List this under: reasons not to be surprised that Megure never counts Ran, Kogoro, Conan, Agasa, ect from the lists of murder suspects automatically as the series progresses.

Interesting Features: Sonoko’s first episode (save the anime filler one that we’re not including that’s mentioned earlier), Matsumoto’s first episode, reveals Sonoko’s being of the “Suzuki Financial Group” (ie, rich af, which comes into play all the damn time), reveals Conan’s tone-deafness which results in countless jokes later on

Included in this episode: Ran and Sonoko, Superintendent Matsumoto, kind of no murders, Nemuri no Sonoko

Ruling: Undetermined. The stuff about Sonoko makes it essential for a new viewer to watch, but only the Matsumoto thing, I think, could mark it as essential to the timeline. We’ll see how much this incident is referred back to the next time we see him doing something important.
