As I sit here by the river, I’m reminded that I am a part of God’s creation. I sit on a rock watching a squirrel sitting on a rock. Watching fish jump up out of the wAter and admire huge ripples in the river that go on and on.
I watch a river rat the size of a dog come up to me; don’t know who is more afraid? I watch a huge tetradactyl like bird fly passed me and I sit in awe.
The ducks are loud and the fish splashes are louder.
As I’m sitting on the rock a huge lizard pokes his head up at me and I almost pee in my pants! I tell him to “go away!” And he wiggles back down the hole only to pop his head out again. He won; I got up and moved to higher ground!
A huge black bird comes near and looks at me curiously. I take a picture of him and he squawked back! I guess he didn’t want his picture taken!
The spring days are like heaven on earth- cool, crisp, light wind with the scent of floral bliss! And the colors that I see: vibrant purple, teal blue on the mallards head, pink buttercups, and the blackish blue feathers on the birds. The new leaves that are bursting forth on the trees are so green it hurts the eyes.
We have no idea what we miss by not getting outside. God has so much to show us, tell us, share with us; we just don’t have time to listen.
