December 30, UC 0079
Zeon forces led by Rear Admiral Kycilia Zabi launch from A Baoa Qu to intercept the advancing EFSF fleet.
As the fighting begins, Amuro and Lalah find each other once again, engaging in an intense duel between the Gundam and Elmeth as their Newtype awareness links their minds.
The struggle only becomes more fraught when Char and Sayla arrive. As Char battles the Gundam, Sayla's presence distracts him, allowing Amuro to disarm Char's Gelgoog. As Amuro goes for the kill, Lalah forces the Elmeth in his way, taking the mortal blow meant for Char.

December 31, UC 0079
Amuro and Char have severely damaged each other's mobile suits.
Char ejects in the Zeong's head-mounted cockpit, and lures the Gundam inside A Baoa Qu. Thanks to months of combat data acquired by the Gundam's learning computer, Amuro is able to set the Gundam to autopilot, ditching the mobile suit to lie in wait.
Gundam and Zeong fire at one another almost simultaneously, and both machines are destroyed, but Char escapes yet again.

December 2, UC 0079 – 7:00 PM
White Base launches for space from Jaburo, armed with an additional Core Booster and a second Guncannon to replace the Guntank. Her crew have been designated the 13th Autonomous Corps, and their objective is to act as a decoy, distracting Zeon's forces while the EFSF prepare their counteroffensive.
The ship is followed by Char Aznable aboard a Zanzibar cruiser, who calls on the nearby Camel Squadron to intercept her in low orbit. White Base deploys her entire fighting force, and the squadron's six Rick Doms and three Musais are quickly eliminated.

November 30, UC 0079
Zeon forces from California Base launch an all-out attack on Jaburo, air dropping mobile suits to breach the base's ground defences and force their way through the main entrance.
Inside Jaburo, Char's attempted sabotage of the mobile suit factory is foiled by members of the White Base crew. Char's team is unable to reach their second objective, locating Jaburo's spacedock and destroying White Base, but the battle outside begins in time to cover their escape.
Amuro confronts Char in the Gundam, and manages to damage Char’s Z'gok, but the Red Comet gets away. The Battle of Jaburo ends in total failure for the Zeon forces, which return to California Base.

October 4, UC 0079
Passing over Seattle, White Base is forced to take cover as Zeon patrols close in. She finds shelter in a ruined stadium just as Garma, who has come in person, orders a carpet bombing of the city to drive White Base out of hiding.
While the ship remains hidden, Char launches in his Zaku to lead Garma's mobile suit forces in searching for White Base on the ground. Meanwhile, Bright sends Amuro to draw the Zeon forces off. Spotting the Gundam, Char intuits Bright's strategy and sets a trap.
Supplying false information on the ship's location, Char sends Garma's Gaw into White Base's line of fire. Shocked by his friend's betrayal but determined to eliminate the enemy, Garma attempts a kamikaze attack, but his Gaw is destroyed in a hail of gunfire. With the Zeon formation broken, White Base is able to escape.
