Just got back from Connecticon which was really fun. Manage to have more fun and stay for more then last year since I wasn't worrying about making buses since I got a room this year.
Kinda just walked around with my friend John while being my typical unnintrusive self for during down time. I saw a few panels where I just absorbed what what being said like the staff panels and the different round tables of web comic and online personality guest. I had a bit of fun at some other panels like a TMNT retrospect and discussion of Gender in Nerd Culture (as well as a few others I might be forget) where I got a bit involved in discussion of those panels. I wish I could have gotten more involved in the discussion of the latter one, but it was short to behin with, the panel started late, and the host was leaving soon. There were a few things that I missed like the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure panel that was canceled, along with a few work shops on character design and the like I wanted to take that I missed out on.
One of the highlights was sitting in on the Team Four Star panel again this year, and seeing them just having a good time. I did manage to talk a bit with Antfish before the panel, realizing it was him half way through the conversation with a brief mental "huh, neat." Really enjoy the +18 plus panel where Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) walked in and they all began a dramatic reading of the first chapter of 50 Shades of Grey.
Later talked with Doug in person for a minute and gave him a first volume of Gintama. I thought he might get into the series from what he's described as his favorite shows, but it's always possible to guess wrong with these types of things. I missed his early panel, from it being packed but it was really great that the con staff managed to get him a main event Q n A since so many people were coming to see him.
Had a great time this year. Even with being my typical aloof self it was still great being in a social place of people expressing themselves about things they enjoy and I'm already looking forward to next year.
