I think it's telling that song called Home sweet Home is an arrange combination of 'Connie' and 'Alone together'. It solidifies the relationship of Steven and Connie and that it has becomei intimately yet innocently romantic.
Maybe I am looking too much into it, but hear me out.
we all know home sweet home is a term used when you're happy to return home from an extended trip,sure..Your home is your sanctuary it's where the Heart is.

That beings said to combining 'Connie' and 'Alone together ' to make 'Home sweet Home', that says to me they wasn't referring to a place, when it come to Steve returning home..Not at all. The place where he feel most safe, The place where his heart is. His home sweet home....That's Connie...
