Today was wonderful. I was able to go on a hike with a good friend of mine, and I was able to accomplish things that I didn’t think I could!
I conquered fears today, I overcame nerves that I didn’t think I could. I tried something new, and I actually liked it! Though the palms of my hands are raw from scraping against rocks, I literally felt so alive, and that little sting is enough to remind me of the great time that I had today.
I climbed down a rock wall, scaled a barrier and dropped 3 feet, it doesn’t seem like much, but I’m not one who takes risks very often. I jumped over rushing waterfalls, and I had so much fun. I got dirt on my hands, jeans, under my watch, on my shirt, and face, and it was wonderful. Then, I was able to go swimming, something that I hadn’t done in years. I had forgotten what it was like to feel the water surround you and to just let go. It was so peaceful.
The little things in life tend to always make me the happiest. Later, I got to go with my best friend, and we just sat and listened to music, all whilst talking about life. Those simple things really make life better.
I’m not perfect, never claim to be, but I’m trying, and that’s really all that I can do. To take one step at a time, one day at a time, and trust that things will work out.
Today was amazing. Today was real. Today was the day I conquered fears.
