it took a lot of string pulling and favors, but the fact that xander landed an interview with a kpop group? it's the best research he's done so far for a video essay. haneul is the last member he's interviewing for the day, and it would be a lie to say that xander hasn't been impressed with the depth and thoughtfulness of his responses in particular. from what he could tell (and what he's been told) haneul was a pretty face who could dance his ass off. it was really unfair for him to be a poet on top of it.
"i dunno if anyone's ever told you this," xander begins and adjusts his glasses. "but you're really bright. like, incredibly bright. it's not that i didn't expect you to be so eloquent but... no one warned me, really." a laugh follows.
