So my Patreon ended awhile back! But I posted every single one of the images that won the submission polls to my two tumblrs, so I don’t see a reason to break that trend. Here’s the 1st place winning submission for October: “(Wildcard) Look if this is gonna be the last poll, why not let one of the drawings be a surprise? Go wild bro."
I was really flattered to get a chance to do anything *I* wanted! Seriously, that means a lot to me. It was actually pretty difficult to decide what to do for a proper send-off for the Patreon. I thought about a Bowsette/Booette piece, as that was running pretty hot at the time, or something involving Halloween. Eventually I felt like making a console-tan picture with the three main console-tans (Xbone, PS4, and now Switch) enjoying an end-of-summer style picture to send everyone off. I also wanted to experiment a bit with a lighter style of coloring and inking, something more like what @brellom and @impactfuma manage. It was super interesting and tricky to pull off, as you can’t do “precision” work with a water-color brush, but hopefully it came out okay. If you like the results or know how I can improve just let me know!
Finally I also took this instance to experiment a bit with Switch-tan. I try to read all of the feedback you guys send me, and I know that her and PS4-tan have perhaps too-similar hair-styles. Back when the Switch debuted, it was a black and grey console, just like the PS4. Nowadays, it has a very striking two-color aesthetic as one of its core elements of design. Previously I used to represent it in the jacket, but it got me thinking of going for an Asuka from WWE look with two-color hair. So far feedback to it has been pretty resistant to the change, so maybe we can just say Switch dyed her hair for this particular piece.
Anyways, that’s all I had to say. A lot of love and effort went into this piece, and I hope all of my patreons know how much I appreciated them and their support. They got me through an extremely financially tough time in my life, and for that I’ll always be grateful.
