So, I tried to introduce my friend to Doctor Who. She thought it was weird. I could respect that she didn't like it. The other day, however, she said the acting was bad and the effects were bad, and it made me sad... Like, she only saw two episodes, and she has strong opinions on it and I want to tell her to not keep telling me that it sucks whenever I mention it... I just don't really know how :P Any advice?

I always tell my friends before they watch it that they have to pinky swear to make it through at least 5 episodes before they judge it because those first few episodes of new who are pretty sketch. I figure if they can make it past the first few, they start getting into the crazy plots and then they're hooked. It's worked many times. So maybe try to convince your friend to watch a couple more episodes before they totally write it off as stupid?
