Hiya! You've been posting a lot about shadow and bone / the grishaverse and I'm very intrigued now as to what it is, a book series that's turned into a show I'm guessing? Do you wanna help me out and give me a hand in all this, because I want to know more but don't know where to start :)
Hi! Yes, it is indeed a book series (or multiple book series actually, written by Leigh Bardugo) that Netflix is now adapting! The first series is called the Shadow and Bone series (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising) and this series is what the majority of the tv show will be about. Then there’s a duology; Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, and some of the main characters from that series are appearing in the show as well. This is about six characters who have to perform a(n impossible) heist.Next is another duology, where the first book is called King of Scars (the second one comes out in 2021). But these are not really brought into the show, the main character from this book won’t be introduced until season 2 (so let’s all hope they make a second season XD). Personally, I always tell people to start with Shadow and Bone because it’s the start of the entire Grishaverse and they are good books. Some people start with Six of Crows but there are some (minor) spoilers for the S&B series if you do want to read those. But definitely read all those books before starting King of Scars cuz there are major spoilers in that one.Honestly, these books are my favourites of all time, Leigh is my favourite author of all time and I am just so so pumped for the TV series, in case you hadn’t noticed yet hahaha!
