So I have a problem, and I'm wondering if anybody here knows anything about consumer rights in the UK, specifically with regards to refunds on online purchases.
To cut a long story short, @Mazzlestar and I bought tickets to the Asylum 8 convention quite a few months ago and shortly thereafter decided to buy ruby upgrades. In the months that followed there was a lot of confusion about what exactly these packages included, and the information they were telling us contradicted what was written on their websites.
Eventually, on the 30th of January I received an email regarding the upgrades, and in the same email we were offered refunds if we were unhappy with the changes they had made to the package. I replied on the 31st that we wanted refunds. On the 17th of February I got a reply asking for details of where to send the money, and I replied on the same day. We haven't heard anything since. I sent another email on the 6th of March asking what was going on and we've still had nothing. Maz even posted on the forum on the 25th, and the next day we got a reply from someone saying they'd look into it, but there's been nothing since.
I'm extremely worried, as it's a really large sum of money, and the event itself is on the 18th of May. I just have visions of them refusing to make the refunds and then saying "WELP sorry it's too near to the event now sux 2 b u". I was considering emailing Consumer Direct about this but I'm not sure what to even say.
So yeah, I'm getting to the end of my tether over this and it feels like I'm running out of time, and I'm wondering if anybody had any advice or suggestions. Or whether there's anything I should know about my entitlements considering I have an email stating that they would arrange the refund.
