Hey everyone! There’s been a lot going on with me lately (Pride, I’m in a new solo apartment, I played Bayonetta and bought a Switch and Splatoon 2), but the main thing I want to brief people on is that I was at a con, Convergence, this last weekend! It’s a general nerd convention for all stuff sci-fi and fantasy. It’s the second one I’ve ever been to so cons in general are still very new to me.

There were some rough patches to it, mostly on Friday so I got started at the con like 4 hours later than I want to (which included me going to the wrong freaking hotel) and then I only got 3 hours of sleep that night, my heels were killing me the whole weekend, and I almost lost my friend’s fancy blue rose earrings that I was borrowing and I spent like half an hour running around frantically looking for them. I also ran into an old friend who was the first person I ever dated, which was both nice and awkward (we didn’t part on a very good note, which was entirely my fault).

But regardless, on the whole I had a great time! I spent the weekend cosplaying as Taako, and there were a bunch of us. The first con I went to like 2 years ago I didn’t dress up for it at all and I felt kind of out of place, so I’m really glad I did this time. Having people recognize my costume and ask for pictures was a lot of fun. The cosplays really were the highlight for me. I took about 240 pictures (though most were like sets of 5 pics of the same cosplays in the hopes that at least one would be good). After I’m done sorting through them to find the best ones I’m planning on posting them here!

One of my friends and I got to try some VR games (including Guitar Hero with lightsabers), this guy in a Radagast the Brown cosplay brought a telescope so that people could take a look at Jupiter and it’s moons Saturday night which was super neat, I bought a Pikachu charm for my mom, and more. I was talking to someone at the Masquerade event (which I teared up at over some of the cosplays) and he was talking about how he and his friends like Convergence because it’s stayed very local and has a real sense of community to it, which I would agree with from my 1 year experience so far. So yeah! It was a good weekend and yall should look forward to seeing cosplay pics in the coming week or two
