No wait by the Lake had ever seemed as long as when Mallory waited for Amelia to show up. She’d been twisting the idea of telling her in her mind for a while and had decided it was probably for the best. Pacing back and forth by the Lake shore, Mallory shifted her weight nervously from one leg to the other. When she heard footsteps behind her, the girl spun around quickly and waved Amelia over, biting down on her lip. “Okay, so before you say anything--” she murmured quickly, scratching the back of her neck as she searched for the right words. She couldn’t find any right words so she simply added, “I... I slept with Newt.”
