Location: Holy Island Police Station.
Violet sat, sulking, on a bench in one of the holding cells of the police station. She wasn't exactly a stranger to law enforcement, but she could think of better ways to spend her night. There'd been a beautiful piece in the gallery - a portrait, that had caught her eye. Caught her eye so much she'd wanted it for herself. She'd used her shadow magic, as always, but... she hadn't expected motion sensors. Not usually a problem - although tonight, she'd just not been quick enough, and with a very human police squad on her tail, she'd refrained from using her magic to escape. A choice she now regretted.
It had been a few hours, most of which Violet had spent thinking about how badly her uncle was going to kill her when he had to bail her out - when a familiar officer approached her, unlocking the door. "It's your lucky day, Locke - they've decided not to press charges." Violet glanced up to look at the man with subtle disbelief - but, she wasn't exactly going to stick around and wait for whoever it was to change their mind. With a humerous smirk dancing at her lips, Violet pushed up to standing, sauntering towards the door.
"Letting me leave so soon, Rick? Gosh, I do love it when you boys play hard to get. It'll take more than that to win me over, though, officer." She winks, laughing to herself. She followed the man through the corridors within the station, making quick strides towards the exit as she's finally free - until she's stopped by a hand on her shoulder. "Not so fast - they want a word before you go." Violet's eyes narrow as the officer points in the direction of a figure, stood between her and escape, before he heads back into the station.
She could feel a pang of anxiety in her gut, as she took a few steps in Arjun's direction - but she doesn't let it show. Instead, that ever confident smile is plastered on her face, folding her arms in front of her. "I'm guessing you work for the gallery?" She tilts her head. "Did anyone tell you how sorry I am? I really am. Honestly, I don't know what came over me. My mom... bless her soul, she's... not well. And... the portrait, it just so reminded me of her, and I thought maybe it would cheer her up. I... I've never done anything like this before, I swear." Her voice is overly sweet, a look of perfect innocence levelled in his direction, subtle sadness in her eyes. "You really are an angel, to show me such... forgiveness."
