Every time she closed her eyes, all she could see was Bailey saving her life, and then dying in her arms, over and over. No matter how many times Shane tried to save her, she couldn’t do it, she kept losing Bailey no matter what she’d done. Even when she tried to take Bailey out of the fair, she seemed to die anyway. Cries were being echoed through the day from Shane’s lips as she cradles her friend’s head in her arms begging her to come back. Though the dream would change, and she would come back, but not as the person Shane knew her as, but as someone who blamed Shane for what happened. She couldn’t seem to get out of the nightmare, no matter what she did. Every time she thought she had awoken from it, she was just being dragged into another nightmare. Shane hated sleeping now, to the point she would force herself to stay awake for as long as possible, but it didn’t seem to stop the nightmares from entering her head.
This time she awoke in a sweat, tears streaming down her face, her heart pounding as she cried into the night. Losing Bailey had pushed Shane over the edge, and she was already at the edge after everything that had happened with Hank. She knew she couldn’t stay at the Marshall’s home for long, it wasn’t her home. She was thinking of living with Bailey, so that her friend and Shane weren’t alone, but Bailey was gone, and Shane didn’t know if she could live without her. She found herself getting out of bed, and walking quietly down the hall, not wanting to wake up anyone. Though she found herself at Jack’s door, and gently pushed it open, hoping that she wasn’t intruding.”C-Can I come in for a bit?” She whispers, wondering if she had awoken him from sleep. She knew he was having just as much trouble as she was, she could see it on his face every time he came through the door when he got home. Home wasn’t exactly a word Shane used lightly, but it was the only word she could describe about this place. What other word was there?
