and with that, the coop is officially finished!

they havent moved in yet. im about to go buy more pine shavings because i dont have enough. i'll be posting a video tour as well watch out for that.
im so so pleased with how it turned out. this was my biggest building project yet and i really feel like i learned a lot and that it came out very well.

it's still plenty spacious inside to move around. lots of room between the boxes and the roosts.
ridge cap on finally, ignore that its shorter than the overhang it still covers the actual roof underneath. so glad im done with that i did NOT enjoy doing the roof.
also got another wall on as you can see, then ran out of screws
yup theres my door! looks good will it actually swing open and closed without sticking well we shall see.
not complete actually, i need to add a strip of plywood around the edges as a stop/to cover the gaps when its closed
floor assembled!
today i started by blocking up the gaps between the rafters while it was still easy to get to
then to putting the plywood roof on
looking like a real little house!
PAINTING DAY!!
i'll be adding trim around the openings and painting those a lighter blue as well as the doors. colors were chosen to match the house as close as i could (which also needs a new paint job ...... so if we get to that maybe i'll use these colors lol). besides looking a lot fresher its reasonably close.
while waiting for the first coat to dry i started assembling the connecting chamber:
and along with the second coat gave it some paint, just to kind of.. blend into the coop where it connects. it may end up being covered with plastic/a tarp anyway just to keep rain from blowing in and making a mud pit where i have to go every day to access the pophole. its about 5' high so i'll have to stoop but not much. hardware cloth over it next.
im soooo happy. i had so much fun painting it.
