“How does someone wi’ absolutely no fuckin’ taste in fashion pull a chick like you, ‘uh?” Victor was perched rather smugly on Maxie’s desk, sitting between the Magma Leader and Lorelei. There was an agitated sigh from the redhead.
(research meme) Nobody had even realized she was in until she'd subdued them. Guards and scientists tied up and unconscious, Lorelei ran to where Maxie was. He was too pale and his eyes were bloodshot, and she approached slowly, watching his gaze. He seemed to register her as she found and placed his glasses on his face, because his tired eyes widened. "Just relax... I'm getting you out of here." Her hand was on his forehead, sending him into sleep. It would make getting him free easier.
The past few months were all a mix of needles, experiments and isolation. Maxie should never have gotten involved with those scientists, that was for certain. But it was too late for him to turn back. His breaths were laboured as he caught sight of the familiar face of Lorelei, but he was almost too out of it to say anything to her.Before he could say anything in response, he had already fallen asleep in her arms.
