The Ignika granted the Mahri their mask powers based on those of other beings it remembered, including some of it’s users that had died.

A couple terrible pictures of Turaga Atraxis of Cordak! Turaga Atraxis was once a Toa of Earth and the leader of the Toa team who protected the island before the Great Desolation, which rendered it a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and is now the only remaining member of that team. As the previous Turaga were also killed, Atraxis was forced to transfer his Toa Energy to four new Toa Stones in order to become the Turaga of Cordak and create four new Toa to replace his old team.

The Toa Stones soon chose four new Toa, the Toa Cordak, from the six noblest Matoran who survived the Great Desolation - Ta-Matoran Cartil, Ko-Matoran Sorin, Ga-Matoran Desona, and Vo-Matoran Trydan - but Turaga Atraxis lived in resentment and hatred of the new Toa Cordak and continually sent them on dangerous and impossible missions with the intended goal of their accidental death.

He eventually allied with the Ghosts of Desolation and used them to spread his corrupt influence in secret throughout the wastelands, intending to have them replace the Toa Cordak after their deaths.

This guy is currently my most original design and I like him a lot! His mask has gone missing since this picture was taken so that's not too great. But yeah! His weapon is a torch of some kind. Possibly a welding torch?
