Me: So what is it that you do in your job, exactly? Her: I work in the corporate field focusing on brand extension and expansion. I’m in charge of making a small website into a profit machine. Me: Wow. Huh... that sounds a lot like Buzzfeed. I used to love Buzzfeed. Her: Yeah! Exactly like that! What do you mean “used to?” Me: Yeah, I used to go there all the time! I loved how small Buzzfeed was and how I, at first, really related to many of the articles posted. They were like my spirit animal. haha! But then they blew up and now they aren’t as fun anymore. It’s like they tried too hard to become a go-to hub for all entertainment and there’s already enough of that.
And let me guess.... you were part of that expansion? Her: Yes, I was responsible for that. Me: **sips my Long Island. plays with ice. purses lips. doesn’t apologize. laughs awkwardly**
