Repost from @mayraaaguillen Today is a day that survivors have been waiting for decades. For decades the DOD covered up and ruined the lives of so many survivors. I am at a loss for words. To the survivors like me “ I’m sorry we were not treated as the victim.” I am sorry you didn’t have a voice and was silenced. I am sorry your career or life was taken at the hands of our abusers. For decades they have studied us on the effects of our traumas and did nothing. Let’s see how effective and how long it will be before it’s implemented. This is bittersweet. Nothing will ever erase the trauma I endured at the hands of those who were to have your back. Nothing will ever make me feel better unless all involved will see D block for the rest of their life.
