I was recently invited to the launch of Vichys Dermablend 3D Correction foundation. What really made this event so special is that the extremely talented international makeup artist Allison Depriestre flew in to explain how to use the new foundation, sharing tips and tricks. It was a really exciting launch, and we watched how different models skins can be treated using the Dermablend foundations.
What makes the 3D Correction foundation different from the Dermablend Fluid, is that it contains an amount of salicylic acid. Salicylic is one of my favorite cosmetic ingredients because its a beta hydroxy acid. This means it eats away at the surface dirt and grease to unclog pores. Who doesn’t love a mild chemical exfoliation?
“As with other hydroxy acids, salicylic acid is a key ingredient in many skin-care products for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, calluses, corns, keratosis pilaris, acanthosis nigricans, ichthyosis, and warts” “Salicylic acid works as a keratolytic, comedolytic, and bacteriostatic agent, causing the cells of the epidermis to shed more readily, opening clogged pores and neutralizing bacteria within, preventing pores from clogging up again by constricting pore diameter, and allowing room for new cell growth” – Source.
The 3D Correction foundation also helps to even the skins texture, and fill in any pitting. Giving the skin a really lovely even complexion, with a great build-able natural cover. Which for acne sufferers is ideal.
For people with skin conditions such as pigmentation, vitiligo, and redness scaring Dermablend Fluid Foundation would be a better choice. It has a maximum cover and a long lasting formula which is sweat, humidity and water resistant and suitable for people with all skin types. It can also be used to cover tattoos:
I love this video! I wonder how long it took to cover him :) During the start of the event a model walked around handing out cards with “I have a secret” at the end we saw Allison Depriestre removing the foundation to reveal hidden tattoos. I have to admit I wouldn’t have guessed the model was covering anything!
Here are some photos from the event, I actually run out of battery and didn’t take any photos myself, so they are from the Vichy facebook page.

It was a full house and I made sure to have a seat at the front (well second row) so that I wouldn’t miss a minute of the demonstrations. I was really lucky to be given a goodie bag with some foundation samples to test out, and a Vichy thermal spray <3 So I will definitely be swatching and reviewing the foundation for you soon!
