Journal Entry #002
I had a horrible nap, I had dreamed of simply NOTHING and tossed the entire time! To make matters worse there was a RAT in my room and he tried to give me some kind of "advice"?? He went into my sock drawer and I'm too rattled to want to deal with him further…
I decided to leave him be and went to my door to see what else this place has to offer, only to find a gift placed outside the room… Inside was a pair of brass knuckles which I have placed in my pants pocket incase I need them. I'm not sure if this was a gift of self defense or some kind of warning… I find I am not trusting of anything I experience here.
My small adventure lead to me discovering some shops in the bazaar, where I sold a few things I was carrying from my escape. I bought a new suit and also a nicer mask before traveling back to Spite and hoping to find any way of making some more cash so I could find a better lodging with less rodents. Speaking of which, as I entered a park I came across several rodents eating… something I'd rather not describe… I was unable to get close enough, but I am less hopeful of finding anywhere clean in Spite.
Further on my excursion, I had another memory where I was standing very high up on the ledge of a building with multiple cops below me… in this memory I was also carrying a bag of jewelry. I do wonder where that's gone…
The idea of being a thief isn't one I feel remorse over, in fact as I wandered through Spite I began to test the crowd with some pickpocketing attempts. I did manage a good run for a bit before being stopped, but it was rather fun so I didn't let this prevent me from doing more.
I managed to only find some strange orange-y "nodules"? That is what they called them when I went to sell them at the Bazaar, Nodules of "deep amber". Strange… I did not make even ONE echo off this, so I'll have to get trickier about how I "earn" around here. I have only 85p to my name…
I returned home for another nap only to be disturbed by a- a child? He claims to be an urchin living on my roof…? It was cold and he needed a spot to stay so I allowed him to sleep on the couch. I was nervous he'd steal from me, mainly as karma for my own thievery, but he seems to have left things tidy.
I will likely stay in my lodgings for now as I debate what I can make money from.
