QUICK CON REPORT AS I TAKE A BREAK FROM MARATHONING ROOSTER TEETH ANIMATED ADVENTURES

So this con kinda fell through in some ways?? The organization was just generally shoddy. I didn't like the time for the costume contest, and the idol was literally completely fucked the fuck over.

ANYWAY NOW ONTO THE GOOD STUFF

Friday I was God Tier Roxy!! Which I made completely the day before but I was still really happy with it~ I like the feel and the outfit design and blue is so pretty. I had a full gt alpha group and we got to have a photoshoot even though all my friends are pretty camera shy and awkward posers haha. I love them anyway though, obviously <3 I also ran another Homestuck panel with Lauren! This one was Jeopardy style, and I'm so happy that we got through all the questions with perfect time~ A lot of people seemed to think the trivia was pretty funny, so that made me happy!! And one lady came up to me after and said she'll probably start reading Homestuck since she liked the panel so much!!!

I also went to the Improv panel because there are a lot of wonderful actors in that panel that I wanted to support, despite my personal differences with the organization style. It was pretty hilarious! The use of the stage was great, and the Striders (Dave, Dirk, AND Bro) plus the Equius made the panel unbelievable hilarious. Gamzee was great too, and Roxy gave me SO MANY FEELS. Then we had a hilarious time at McD's for dinner that I can't even begin to describe.

Saturday I was Princess Bubblegum!! Originally I was going to be in the contest, but due to the problems and time issues my group members where having (I was in group novice) we decided to drop out and spend the 5 some hours actually enjoying the convention and eating food and stuff haha. I was the only PB there, and a lot of people seemed to really like that I did the Royal Tart dress!!! I love that dress so much and put a lot of effort into it (even though my crown totally died) so that made me really happy!!! I used Snazaroo for the first time, which worked quite well on my face but wasn't awesome on my hands. Live and learn, I guess! I also got to play A BUNCH of Card Against Humanity which was fabulous. Saturday dinner we went to EXP and watched the International Space Station fly directly overhead!! So cool!!

Sunday was SO COLD STARTING OUT. AND IT WAS POURING RAIN. Which made me really sad since I was fem Dirk Strider (in a crop top). Also I had the worst luck with glasses but thankfully I was able to borrow a pair from a friend!! It was fun just sitting around and in the chill room which got warm from all the people there for the Vanstuck picnic. I also had a full genderbent alpha group!! Pictures will be up late ahh I'm so excited everyone was so much fun hanging out with <3 I also started helping my friends with their crazy gishwhes which was awesome. I loved being Dirk because I got to run around with my awesome practice sword!! Also my friends and I mad a million animated adventures jokes from rooster teeth it was great.

All around pretty disorganized which sucked but very fun!!! I know the founders and execs care a lot about the con so I think they just made some bad decisions. Hopefully it'll be better next time!!

Create Your Own Adventure at C&E

For those auditioning for the Homestuck: Create Your Own Adventure panel at Cos and Effect (info: http://vancouverstuck.tumblr.com/post/55928166155/courtnu-auditions-for-the-cos-effect ) there is one week left to apply!!

If you have sent in an email, but have not been contacted via Skype yet, I have not received your email. Please double check the email address ( [email protected] ) and send another one.

From there you will be scheduled an audition on Skype, and all auditions will have 2 or more actors, and you will be evaluated on your acting and how you interact!

Auditions for the Cos & Effect Homestuck Improv panel is now open! Things will be a little different from the other Vanstucks panels. First of all, the panel is a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style panel, instead of an Ask Panel. If you're unsure of how these work, there are some great examples on youtube, or feel free to message myself or Sammi! To audition, the first step is to send an email to [email protected] and labelled "C&E Improv Panel" in the following format: Name: Auditioning for: Are you definitely attending Cos and Effect: If no, explain why you may not be attending: Picture of cosplay: Skype name: Time availability for auditions: > A full picture of your cosplay is required. If a troll, paint is not required for the picture but is required for the panel. > Picture files may either be links or file attachments. > Cosplays will not be judged on quality, but on completion. A complete and canon cosplay is required. If you are missing parts, or it is a WIP, you will be judged on what parts are completed when casting occurs. > Auditioning for multiple characters is allowed. > Cosmetics such as contacts and fake teeth are not required.  > Improv auditions will be held on Skype. Creating a Skype account is free. Please test your mic ahead of time. If having Skype is impossible specify why and special conditions may be granted. > Swearing and shipping (ESPECIALLY non canon shipping) is not allowed in auditions or the panel. Please be considerate of such. > Parts will be given out based on enthusiasm and acting ability! If you don't sound like you want to be in this panel, we won't cast you. Please give us your full attention during improv auditions! > You do not have to be a member of Vanstuck to auditions, but joining Vanstuck is simple, free, and effortless! Characters open for auditioning: Aradia, Tavros, Sollux, Karkat, Terezi, Vriska, Gamzee, Feferi, Eridan, Jane, Jake, Meenah, Aranea, and Kankri. DEADLINE for emails is July 28th at midnight PST. I will be adding you on Skype and to a improv group once your email has been sent in. Times will be made for your improv audition. Auditions will be held in groups of two or more, and questions will be asked by myself and/or Sammi. You're expected to act in character for the duration of the improv, and interacting with your other actors is highly encouraged. People not auditioning are free to listen in and ask questions but their mic's MUST be muted. Please be online at least 15minutes before the time of your auditions. Tardiness will not be tolerated unless with good reason. Auditions will be roughly 30minutes.
