That ravaged his body 'til his dying disquiet

That left a friend to wait in the rain

To never see the sun again

One whose end came withering and slow

Until his end is all he would know

A long trek north, an impossible task

'Til a kind way out was all he could ask

One whose end came sudden, violent

That choked them with blood 'til their screams were silent

And 'til the rain washes the red away

Leaves another with a world gone hostile and gray

These poor souls, these forsaken three

Perhaps now, then, they can all be free

But until skies have cleared and the flowers have sprung

Maybe it's easier to eat your young.
