—               }{  WAS HER MAMA going to be pissed when she showed up back home with a sword?  perhaps, but that hadn’t swayed her interest in it.  she could have asked her uncle nys of course, but somehow she figures that would end in thievery of an unfun kind with the wrong types of people. so ana’hira was the better option. 

she lights up at ana’hira’s reply.  this was easier than she’d thought!  then ana’hira cuts herself off with a narrowing of her eyes.  io keeps her gaze locked on the taller, even as she stands and crosses her arms, her phone forgotten for the moment.     ❝ a xiphos.  or maybe a falchion.  but not a kopis, mama calls those ‘villainous weapons’, ❞     she replies easily, as if ana’hira had not narrowed her eyes at all. 

she re-perks as ana’hira continues, tail flicking happily.     ❝ no need to worry about that, i adapt easily to weather changes. ❞     one of her quirks as a mutant.     ❝ is that the pushkar of india, or some planet i haven’t heard of? ❞

      If he sounds bitter, he’s not, and he trusts on her to pick up on that tone. After all, her whole shtick would really suffer if she didn’t excell at reading people.

      Which led back to the state of reality in which she just drops in whenever she feels like it, she just drops by and absolutely boycotts whatever it is he’s currently doing. 

      (Given: in about seven out of ten cases, ‘whatever he’s doing’ entails something self destructive, and another two times it’s actually not anything better, but still. There’s the occasional situation where he would prefer to do his own thing, y’know? The idea of control over his life, even if it’s an illusion.)

      And all because she knows exactly that even if he’s going to be moody and complain about it, he is going to help her out in the end. When did they become friends, exactly?

—         }{   THERE’S NO LIE in saying that ana’hira is a tough fight whenever she shows up, even buttercup had her troubles with ana’hira.  today though, is bubbles’ day to deal with her.  there’s no building safe for their fight.  fighting a cosmic power is never simple and never without damages.  nor injury it seems.  bubbles was practically invulnerable, but not completely.  that much is obvious by the blood spilling down her forehead into her eyes.  ana’s not totally invulnerable either though if her now spewing-blood, definitely-broken nose was anything to go by.  

bubbles sits in the crumbled remains of a building wall, battered, bruised, bleeding.  still, she musters up a shout:   ❝ you ready to give up yet?! ❞
