i need some advice!! i’ll pop some reference pictures in here:
how do i start to pattern out some sleeves similar to the ones on this dress? i won’t lie- i am taking the easy way out and constructing the bodice over an old already made corset i have laying around and have everything ready expect for the sleeves and the gold trimming around the top! i don’t have any similar sleeve patterns and i have the worst time making my own, what could i do to make this easier on myself?!

I'm pretty sure half of Joann's Fabrics heard me exclaim "oh my God" when I came across this pattern in the McCall's book today. I struggled for two years to put my Lan Wangji costume together, drafting by hand and Frankensteining other costume patterns together.
And here's freaking Yaya Han selling a pattern 3 years later. In a major American store.
I mean, it's not completely screen accurate, I can tell that from the picture. But I have to be honest, even with my admitted distaste for Yaya, this is pretty cool. A wuxia costume pattern made for the American market, fit for women not men. Yes, I bought it even though the only one they had in stock was too small for me.

On October 19, 1933, the McCall Pattern Company issued the patterns for the “Child’s Fancy Dress Costume for Mickey and Minne Mouse” that children could actually wear. The costumes were inspired by popular Mickey and Minnie dolls that were handmade in Los Angeles by Charlotte Clark, a local seamstress, in 1930.
