Why Cotton is NOT Your Winter BFF
Love cotton? So do we, for summer! But when temps drop, your cozy cotton favorites can actually make you colder. Here's why:
Cotton's super absorbent. Great for wicking sweat in summer, but bad in winter! It holds onto moisture (from sweat or air), which then rapidly pulls heat from your body. Basically, damp cotton steals your warmth. Imagine wearing a wet cotton shirt in snow—brrr!
So, what to wear instead? Look for insulating & moisture-wicking fabrics!
Merino wool is amazing—it stays warm even when wet.
Polyester fleece (synthetics) also wicks moisture & dries fast for superior warmth.
Layering these materials is key!
Leave cotton for summer. For true winter warmth, choose fabrics that actively keep you dry & insulated. Stay cozy!
