What's autumn/fall like in your DR?
P.S. the blog will still be taking other confessions, this is just for fun!
autumn? In my DR? Honestly i haven’t thought about it- its a pre-industrial level tech type world, so autumn is likely cold and winter even colder- i suppose, depending on when in my DRself’s timeline we are, i’ll be busy pilfering scraps of clothing to layer up for winter, or to gather fabrics to build some nest in a nook or cranny, being a child too stubborn to ask for help or even accept it. Patching up clothes or gathering coin, as during the cold seasons there isn’t much food in the wild, so i’ll have to rely on buying and charity. And i don’t much trust charity. If theres anything i can scavenge that can last longer, like nuts and dried fruit or similar, i gather than too. If its in my teens and early adults, i will be busy with the military, puffing warm air into my hands to warm up atop the tall walls, shuddering as the wind runs right through you, deep into your bone. Latter half of my early adult years, during autumn, i mostly train, and whatever else needs done. Often, when i have free time, i go foraging. Or scavenging. I’m still not opposed to rummaging through a good dumpster for functional goods. On evenings i’m either drinking to forget or later, hanging around a certain group of people. Sometime we drink, sometimes we eat something hearty together, sometimes we tell each other stories and laugh and just generally have fun. I still quite like foraging, but it’s more in the direction of herbs and during fall, mushrooms. in the distant unknowns of my late years, i imagine i’d still be foraging, but i might have gotten into cooking a whole bit more. And food is much easier and more convenient to get ahold of, so, i don’t exactly beed to forage. I just do it out of habit. Maybe to teach a younger generation. Mine? Someone else’s? Hell if i know. But they’re probably unruly little rugrats.
