Gaia’s Brood Art Contest!
I just had my FIRST scorpion brood! My C. gracilis female, Gaia, has given birth to some beautiful babies, and I want to share them with you!
There will be two categories for this contest. The first, and most obvious considering the header image, is an art contest!
The Theme is...tarantulas, or scorpions of course! Any type of tarantula or scorpion.
You may use whatever medium you want, because art isn’t cut and dry! Drawings with pencil or charcoal, paintings in acrylic or oil, sculptures or even crochet/knitting-- as long as your two hands created it, it’s art to me!
Just post your entry to your blog and tag @counttarantula in it!
Bonus points to anyone who incorporates ‘Count Tarantula’ into their piece!
The second category is more simple, for those of you who find themselves lacking in the creative department: simply reblog this post! I will choose one of the rebloggers at random.
The Prizes:
Three (3) C. gracilis scorplings for the art contest winner
Two (2) C. gracilis scorplings for the reblog-raffle winner.
Requirements:
You MUST be following me, regardless of how you are entering this contest. As in, if you send in an art piece to me, you must be following Count Tarantula.
You MUST live in the United States. Sorry, it’s not easy to legally shipping invertebrates internationally.
You will be responsible for shipping fees, I will take care of the packaging. You can choose 2 day shipping or 1 day shipping via Fed-Ex.
I am not responsible for deaths in transit, there will be no LAG (Live Arrival Guarantee) for these free scorpions.
Just to be sure I am aware of your contest entry, you should submit the link to me via tumblr or e-mail it to me at [email protected]. Subject should be “Art Contest Entry” so I’m sure not to miss it.
This contest is COMPLETELY dependent on the brood being successful. If the mama scorpion cannibalizes the whole lot, or they die off for some reason, I’m afraid there isn’t anything I can offer save for giving you scorplings from a future brood. I am taking care of Gaia the best I can, but sometimes nature isn’t fair and some things are out of my control. I can NOT be held responsible for the brood becoming a bust.
Contest begins RIGHT NOW! And ends at midnight, October 31, 2017! What’s better for Halloween, than some free scorpions?!
I will announce winners November 1st, by midnight. That gives me 24 hours to get my ducks in a row. IF THERE IS BAD NEWS ON THE BROOD, I will end the contest early and announce it here on my blog.
