Meet Musician 1st Class Kenny Ray Horton, lead vocalist and guitarist for Country Current. Starting his Navy career as an electronic technician, Horton finessed an impromptu audition on the quarterdeck of Navy Band Great Lakes' building playing some John Mellencamp and Bob Seger. One week later he was frontman for a Navy Band Great Lakes show at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. Additionally, he co-wrote "A Soldier's King," which was recorded by Kenny Rogers and is approaching platinum status.
